    Help: Connect Mac/iPod to HDTV

Had a random quick question for a tech-savvy expert such as yourself after not being able to find what I needed on the search option.

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro & iPod Touch and was looking into cables to connect both pieces of hardware to a large HD television (complete with multiple HDMI, composite, component, etc connections). I was hoping to run both sound and video to the HDTV and wanted some advice as to what cables/connections you would recommend.

Also, I know all cables are basically created equal - in terms of what they do - so if you know of any sites/local stores that offer generic, cheaper cables than I'd be all for it as opposed to inflated retail store prices; preferably I'd like a site where I can get everything at once instead of being nickel & dime'd by shipping charges.

What inputs/outputs does the macbook and touch have? The best and simplest connection is always HDMI. Most PC laptops connect to HDTVs via VGA cables for the best resolution if HDMI to HDMI isn't possible. Sound is through 3.5mm audio plugs.

Something like this (assuming the macbook doesn't have HDMI): http://www.amazon.com/RiteAV-Monitor...1617995&sr=8-1

You can get longer or shorter depending on your needs.

Amazon.com is going to be cheaper if you only need one cable (no taxes)

monoprice.com is going to be cheaper if you need more than 1 (shipping is expensive for 1 item)
