How to kill my interest in the Emmy Awards

    Have Jimmy Fallon host!

Blergh. I normally watch those too. Not this year, I guess.

I'll watch it either way. I watch too much television to not care who wins.

Jimmy Fallon has gotten better as a late night talk show host but as host of the Emmys? Er, no thanks.

Just about, actually he does okay with some guests but yeah, most of the time it's pretty bad. You could say the same for Conan in his early years so i'm confident he'll get better. I mean there's only one way to go after you're at rock bottom.

The Emmy host isn't as big a deal as the Oscar host.

Fallon has gotten a lot better. His parodies, especially the "Real Housewives of Late Night" are comedy gold.

Problem is, he can't do those as award show host, so I'm a leery of this decision.

Its impossible to kill my interest in the Emmy's because I never had any to start with. All award shows suck.

The Oscars tend to be decent, but the others are terrible.

Music is way too subjective to do anything more than a single genre so I can somewhat forgive the Grammys (though nominating 2 year old albums is odd to me), but the Emmys are by far the worst of all the award shows.

The fact that The Wire's nomination list totaled 2 nominations for writing is laughable.

Also, I like 24 and all, but I don't know how any sane person could think that season 5 of 24 (or any season) was better than season 5 of The Shield and season 4 of The Wire. That's like saying Stephon Marbury in his prime is better than Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson in their primes.

The comparison could be played out as Stephon Marbury played in the NBA, then lets say Jordan and Johnson played overseas or in a league not many people watched.

Not many people know about The Shield or The Wire while 24 is one of TVs most watched shows.

If the Emmys were the Teen Choice Awards that might matter.

If you're a television critic and you didn't watch The Wire or The Shield, you weren't a legitimate television critic.

The Oscars manage to nominate all sorts of movies nobody has seen. Outside of The Departed, none of the last 6 Best Picture movies were big time movies, and most of their money was made after they started getting Oscar buzz, and even The Departed wasn't anywhere near as big as the sum of its parts.
