Very strong last episode. Agree w/others; the Turtle storyline is pretty weak. The sports & celebrity cameos (other than Cuban) for the storyline seem overreaching. And I may be the only one that doesn't get Ari's wife's dissatisfaction over the marriage - it's his push-hard style that allows them to live like they do. And while he is a workaholic it just seems she's trying to have her cake and eat it too. When he tried to be a more doting father last episode she seemed to want him to be more attentive to the job. Then he had to catch it from the sister-in-law last night. Still Ari's my favorite part of the show. I have a ton more respect for E's and Vince's characters after this season; really like how they've been written this year

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
So supposedly Season 8 is only 6 episodes. W....T....F?
After last night, does anyone think they could extend the show with this new direction and not end it at Season 8?Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Wont happen. Most of the cast's contracts end after this season and I've heard rumors that Piven is ready to move on.Comment

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
I'm pretty sure when they extended all of their contracts, they also included a movie - but yeah, season 8 will be the last one no matter what. Which is sad because the dramatic twist this season definitely changed the formula and extended the series' life, and quality, for another season or two.Comment

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
Anyways, I'm hoping next season they don't start it off months after the end of Season 7. They have to pick it up right after the hospital scene or sometime soon after that IMO. I get the feeling they won't though, considering next season is supposed to only be 6 episodes.
I'd just like to know how they plan on wrapping up the Vince drug storyline, his relationship with Sasha (which I don't think is completely over), as well as his possible/probable comeback, Ari's possible divorce with his wife, the debut of Drama's cartoon and his relationship with E's fine *** assistant, Turtle's boring storyline, E and Lavin teaming up to take down Murray, E and Sloan's wedding AND the fact that it's the last season....I just don't know how they plan to end all of that in 6 episodes.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
I see them having some sort of rehab/detox period for Vince coupled with another possible career recovery period like after the "Medellin" flop. Sasha's role I think has ran its course, and I think that Ari is heading towards a divorce or separation of some sort with the wife and if that happens, will we ever find out what her GD name is?
This also could be the season Drama is no longer the loser older brother who is riding Vince's coat tails with Vince once again having to rework his image after burning opportunities with different directors and studios. Drama may actually turn out to be the most successful one of them all with that cartoon. But like the rest of you, I just hope we aren't waiting too long for it to crack off again.Last edited by iLLmatic; 09-14-2010, 04:01 AM.Comment

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
I haven't enjoyed this show since season 2. Its writing is extremely lame. Every time a character faces a conflict, it wraps itself up in a bow for them, and the character wins by doing seemingly nothing, or are just extremely lucky. Like for instance, a complete loser like Turtle getting some hot girl, and not only that, but she has some tequila company for him to sell. Obviously no one in their right mind would invest with some nobody like him, but luckily, Mark Cuban just so happened to be wandering through Ari's office for a meeting and guess what? He will gladly pour millions into this for a complete stranger! How lucky for Turtle. A lot of the drama is completely forced and foolish. Like Ari's wife suddenly being embarrassed by the way he treats his employees. Ummm...this was a shock to her? Combined with the really lame "breakup" scene set to Christina singing sad music, this whole storyline ended so bad.
This season was really out place. Wouldn't this season of made more sense to have taken place after season 5? Vince hitting bottom. Instead, Vince hits bottom....again? That's just lazy. Next season is reportedly the last, so wouldn't it of made much more sense for that to be Vince's big comeback? Instead of, another big comeback after they've already done that?
Vince becoming a drug addict was somewhat entertaining, mainly because it was the most life Grenier has ever given to this one dimensional character. I've never liked any of the main 4 characters, Drama is okay for comic relief, E is a completely boring character that sucks the life out of every scene he's in, while Turtle is a waste of screen time and impossible to like. Ari stole the show from the first season on when he just had a bit role, and then they ruined him by basically expanding the show into Vinnie Chase's career as half the show, and Ari Gold's career as half the show. So many episodes sacrificed creatively, just to give Ari screen time in some pointless storyline about his kids or his wife so he can curse and try to be funny. He was at his best when it wasn't forced like that, in seasons 1 and 2. At this point in the show, he has no relevance of even being on screen with Vince, since E pretty much runs his career.
All and all I've grown to dislike this show as it's progressed. Extras was a much better "inside Hollywood" show. The cameos were far superior too, as they all played comedic versions of themselves, where on Entourage they seem like they have no business being there, and don't want to be there, and are just there for namesake. Especially the athletes. They've had so many putrid athlete cameos the past few years. Phil Mickelson's was embarrassingly terrible.Comment

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
Ari with Dana Gordon would be interesting...
I kinda agree with Spank.... That would have been AWESOME if this season had actually taken place right after Medellin bombed at Cannes. Instead, we got a season of Vince and E and the rest of the gang running around Hollywood begging for a role. Only to somehow wind up in a Scorsese flick after Martin see's a few reels of some movie he was **** canned in.
The final episode was good and this has definitely been my favorite season in a while, but it doesn't seem like the producers/writers, Doug Ellin in particular, had much of a vision for this series. It feels like the writers sat around an office a few weeks before each season and decided what they wanted to do with the show for that season. Not really looking down the line to maybe decide what would really make for the best show.
At the same time, this was a 25 minute dramedy on HBO. You can't really expect Sopranos/Mad Men/Wire style writing for this kind of show. Although it would have been nice.
I'm glad the show is wrapping up. Knowing how this show has played out every other time the cast has faced adversity, they always wind up on top.
A few things I'd like to see for the series finale:
Drama finally have a truly successful endeavor. I'm sick of the Drama is a loser jokes, it's old.
Eric to take over Murray's company with Scott Caan's character. I dunno if I'd like to see this as much as I think it's going to happen.... I don't believe Eric will marry Sloan.
Ari to get divorced. I don't want to see a cheesy reconciliation between Ari and his wife. It's been done too many times. Ari is who he is.
What will probably happen is Ellin will write it so that Ari gets back with his wife and shows her that he is a changed man. Vince will get out of rehab and want nothing more than to work and he will fall back in line as one of the top dogs in show biz. Turtle will sell the tequilla company for millions. And Drama will achieve some success with Johnny Bananas. E will grow a back bone and at least be named partner at the agency he works for.
All the characters will be showing "growth" in Ellin's eyes because they will be displaying characteristics that they wouldn't have been able to show in seasons 1-6. And everyone will live happily ever after.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Re: Entourage Season 7 Thread
I think what would be really interesting is if Vince didn't get back on top. I mean they could have him get through rehab and all that but it would be interesting to see it all end with E, Drama and Turtle doing good for themselves while Vince struggled, since that is the complete opposite of how the show started.
I doubt that happens but it would be something interesting to see IMO. I'm still annoyed the season is already over but the good news is it lead almost right into Season 5 of Dexter.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick.
