Over-the-Ear Headphones (Also .. help me identify these ones)

I'm looking to buy over-the-ear headphones for college because I listen to a lot of music and I want to have noise-cancelling ones. Heard the Dre Beats were overpriced so not worth the hefty price. I was watching a fan-made video on Kid Cudi's album Man on the Moon and saw these headphones that interested me. I don't know what model it is though, but I was just wondering if anyone knew.

Or if anyone knows anything about headphones, I'm looking for a good noise-cancelling over-the-ear headphones. I'm willing to pay for the right price as long as it is worth it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Bose are the most over priced pieces of audio in the entire business.

I have heard good things about Sennheiser - http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-...6574384&sr=1-1

I have a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre and next to my iphone, it's the best purchase/investment I've made in years. Absolutely love em!!!

      Sennheiser is really good too!

How much are you looking to drop for a pair? I dropped about $200 for my Sennheiser 595. Wish I could have dropped more for a higher pair but these suckers are great. Only use them for gaming though. Nothing but great games with those joints. They also make the music nice when I do take them out. Only have that long cord though. Before I made a purchase though, I did a lot of research on the AVS forums and http://www.headphonereviews.org/

I'm on board with everyone else, if it's not Sennheiser, you're wasting your money. I just bought a pair of Senn's for over-the-ear actually. I was low on bank so I picked these up. They're $25 and change at Wal Mart and I love them. Absolutely excellent. If you're going to be listening from an iPod, your sound quality is likely to be limited by the music file itself, not the headphones. These will sound as good plugged into an iPod as a $300 pair of Dre Beats or whatever.

Why do the beats require batteries?

A lot noise canceling headphones do. I know the Bose my dad has do. You flip a switch to turn on the noise canceling.

If you've ever warn a pair, you'd know. It literally sounds like a car stereo on your head. You can't get that output with regular phones.

I've got a pair of Beats but have you noticed poor quality on the cord?

The red cover on my aux cord started "break away" from both ends of the cord near the jack.

I dunno why it did that, but it really sucks for the price I paid for them to fall apart like that. It hasn't impaired the sound quality yet, but it does leave the wires exposed which I imagine is only a matter of time before it does some damage.

Nope. Not at all. Haven't had any problems what so ever. Maybe the cord was being stretched out? That seems odd.
