    MP3panda

SKY88 - Nhà cái uy tín hàng đầu tại Việt Nam đến từ Anh Quốc, thưởng nạp hấp dẫn lần đầu đến 300%, lên đến 3.000.000đ.

Are sites like this legal? They sell songs for like 5 cents. I did some googling and people are saying it's legal in Russia(where they are based) because they pay the royalties, but don't have an agreement with the artist so they could pay a fraction of a cent.

I find it hard to believe it's legal, or has iTunes and other music sites just done that good of a job getting you to pay $1+ for songs that they keep 80% of the profit of?

I stick with Amazon when I buy songs btw, the artist I want to give my money to deserve more then a tenth of a cent and I am fine with Amazon taking the rest of it since I get so much cheap stuff off there lol

Well that is what I use for downloading mainstream crap that I am not gonna pay for. That's not what I am asking.

This sounds exactly like allofmp3.com, which was also Russian-based and sold songs dirt-cheap.

        Not legal. http://www.scameye.com/

It's actually the exact same company. I think I read that site just forwards you to panda now.

Take it easy, I was just suggesting a place to download music, instead of paying a dollar a song or in his case 5 cents a song.

I know of no compelling reason why any competent person would want to use Limewire now. It's 2010, and even if you feel the need to pirate, there's far better alternatives out there.

I'd also personally stay away from these Russian sites. Why would I want to give them any of my credit card or bank account info?

Limewire is just fine. The need to "pirate" is there because I am not going to pay $1 for some lil wayne song.

I give my money to artist who don't make millions of dollars a year and have to tour 300 days out of the year to make a living.

If you know how to use a computer: Usenet, torrents, or even file sharing sites like rapidshare/megaupload
                    If not: Limewire

It amazes me that people not only still prefer to use stuff like limewire, but actually recommend it to others. Whatever...not really my business.

Well almost everyone I know uses limewire, I personally haven't used it in a while. I've been using Vuze for Torrents and its the Limewire equivalent of torrents.

                        I am a CIS major

Limewire is still just fine for individual songs. Now whole albums, that's a different story.

But have we come to the conclusion that mp3panda is illegal? It helps me win an argument. My buddy tries to be moral and pay for songs here and thinks this site actually sends back most of the money.

I don't know about this specific site, but the stance of the US and European governments is that sites like this are illegal. It's even an issue blocking Russia's entry into the WTO.

As you said, these sites claim to pay royalties, which is apparently good enough to satisfy Russian copyright law. The recording industry just denies the legitimacy of the group that supposedly collects these royalties in Russia.

The RIAA almost shut Pandora down because of royalty disputes, so there's no way in hell these cheap mp3 sites in Russia are ever going to be legit.

I'm not sure Russia cares about copyrights at all. I know a guy who was born and lived in Russia for about 25 years and he says that no one there cares about copyrights. They take anything that was made in the US and copy/spread it in no time - and it's completely legal in Russia. Copyrights are pretty useless there.
                            My Specs:

                            GPU: Monochrome display
                            RAM: 48 KB
                            OS: Sinclair BASIC

They have no reason to. They don't benefit from spending money to enforce laws that would only make American companies even richer. If people in their country are gonna buy this stuff for whatever price, might as well let your own citizens keep it all.
