    Recovering Files from Mac?

    Hey guys,

My friend accidentally deleted some photos from her iPhoto, and was wondering if there was a way to recover them?

I have no idea about Macs so I figure it's good to ask on the board.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

There's a "Trash" tab in iPhoto on the left-hand side so check there first.

If it's not there, you can try the Finder --> User Name --> Pictures --> iPhoto Library --> right-click --> Show Package Contents --> Data

She didn't check there but I'll relay the info to her.

Ill piggy back on this thread and ask another recovery question.

I tried to install bootcamp and windows a while back and it didn't work out. I didn't have the right version of windows and couldn't do it. It did take 25 gigs from my hardrive though, for windows. since I didn't put windows on it, basically now, 25 gigs of my hardrive is just separated and on its own. I tried to make it "time machine back ups" but it wasn't big enough for that.

is there any way I can just combine it back with my regular hardrive so I can get back that 25 gigs?

MAC's have a built in back up feature called Time Machine that hopefully she enabled. She will be able to go to that application and recover them.

Not sure, you'll have to go to Disk Utility and try there.

She'll only be able to do that if her Mac is hooked-up to another HDD. Also, setting Time Machine to run on a partition of the internal HDD kind of ruins the point of having a backup HDD, doesn't it? If it fails, then even the backup fails.
