The show is pretty much stories around his standup routines, and his standup is pretty popular.

I agree, but there's just a lot of subtlety and nuances in the non-standup segments that I personally think are hilarious--- I just know that everyone else will catch them.

        Re: Louie

Only parts I didn't like from the first two episodes were the school trip, even though it had the set up for hilarious children rearranging plan, and the helicopter. Rest of the episodes were just great. That date was just awesomeness and I loved the poker scene.

I do wonder where the show will go though, because right now it relies heavily on his standup routine, and that material can last only so long. I like the random aspect of the show, where it jumps from one storyline to stand-up to another storyline. It's like watching two different short episodes w/ standup in the middle. Whereas other shows waste the time that Louie does in standup because they need to properly transition or set up the new storyline, this show just throws you right into it and lets the story just flesh itself out.

It's very early Seinfeld-esque in that respect.

I didnt enjoy the first one, but did like the 2nd one. I'll stick around a couple more weeks.

I loved it. I watched Louie’s show when it was on HBO and it was funny but he’s done a much better job of streamlining it and making it less depressing (HBO’s show was pretty dark at times).

Here is a review of it that is pretty positive.

Pretty freakin' good. I could always use some great comedies. CK is fantastic overall.

I saw him in Sacramento in 2006. He was funnier than I thought, actually he was hilarious. Didn't even need the two drinks to think that. I will have to check this out

My initial response was that it reminded my of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Enjoyed the couple of episodes that I watched, but I am afraid it won't last the summer.

FX doesnt cancel programs midseason so dont worry about Louie. All 10 episodes will air.

I'm one episode behind but I thought it was cool to see the girl from Louie (the HBO show) in the episode! I always thought she was extremely cute.
