    Make a Greatest Hits Compilation

Simple idea. Pick one or two of your favorite bands and create a compilation of their greatest hits in your opinion. Only one rule, don't hate on someone else's choices or exclusions.

    Breaking Benjamin
    1. So Cold
    2. Give Me A Sign
    3. Break My Fall
    4. The Diary of Jane
    5. Follow
    6. Dance With The Devil
    7. Without You
    8. Fade Away
    9. Rain
    10. Skin
    11. You
    12. Anthem Of The Angels
    13. So Cold (Acoustic)
    14. The Diary of Jane (Acoustic)
    15. Without You (Acoustic)

-I wanted to include another acoustic, but I went with Rain instead. The lyrics in that song are pretty powerful to me. Obviously, my favorite studio album of theirs is Dear Agony. I think that's due to the tone of the album. Saturate had that debut album feel to it and it didn't showcase what I find unique about the band(Ben's voice). I like it, but there wasn't a flow to me. We Are Not Alone had better flow, but 2 of the songs on that album didn't fit to me(Forget It seemed like a low rent version of Forever...I know iTunes has a version of it called Album Version but it sucks even worse to me). Phobia was perfect as far as a flow. But the lyrics weren't as good as Dear Agony. You could tell Ben was dealing with his disease through lyric in their last album.

    The Dream
    1. Luv Your Girl
    2. She Needs My Love
    3. All Black Everything
    4. Rockin' That S---
    5. Purple Kisses
    6. Walkin' On The Moon
    7. Falsetto
    8. February Love
    9. Luv Songs
    10. Right Side Of My Brain
    11. Nikki
    12. Nikki, Part 2
    13. Abyss
    14. Mama

-If you're a fan of his, then the way the first 13 are ordered makes a lot of sense. Basically, I've got them ordered to where it tells the story of how he met this girl who was already taken all the way to their breakup and how he's moved on. #2, #10, and #11 are my favorites by far. His newest album, Love King, just came out 2 days ago. So there might be a song or two added once I've listened to that album enough.

    I like this idea.

    Thrice
    1. Deadbolt
    2. Kill Me Quickly
    3. To Awake and Avenge The Dead
    4. Cold Cash and Colder Hearts
    5. Silhouette
    6. Paper Tigers
    7. All That's Left
    8. Stare at the Sun
    9. Image of the Invisible
    10. Between the End and Where We Lie
    11. Send Me An Angel
    12. Eleanor Rigby

Yeah. So mostly stuff from 2 albums. Started with Deadbolt cause that is their best song in my opinion and it has a killer hook. Kept all of the harder stuff in the beginning mostly, then softened it up with All Thats Left and Stare at the Sun.

Threw in 2 covers at the end for fun that I think are very well done.

Re: Make a Greatest Hits Compilation

I actually do this a lot on iTunes. For bands and artists I really like, I'll make a "Best of..." playlist with my favorite songs. It's not necessarily a "greatest hits" compilation, but more of a "favorite songs" list.

I would post the ones I have right now, but I haven't updated/added to them in a long time. I've got playlists for Brand New, M. Shinoda (with both Fort Minor and Linkin Park), Benjamin Gibbard (with both Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie), Dallas Green (with his solo project, City and Colour, as well as his work with AlexisOnFire), and Thursday. I always wanted to make one for Taking Back Sunday, but it would just end up being their entire first two CD's... haha

Nothing off of Identity Crisis? I'd throw in at least that song or A Torch to End all Torches on that album. A greatest hits album should give you a song or two from the bands beginning. And that album really opened my eyes in terms of hardcore/metalcore stuff back in 2002. I'd also throw in So Strange That I Remember You off of The Illusion of Safety. Come All You Weary would go on my list as well.

Other then that, I dig the list. Thrice used to be one of my favorite bands. I still dig them a lot and I like the direction they have gone in their last couple albums. The only album I didn't really care for was The Artist in the Ambulance...I like a good number of songs on there, but their style was kind of getting played out.

I like this idea, maybe we should limit it to the top 10 songs so these lists don't get 20+ long. Lemme think...

Identity Crisis is a good song but I really havent listened to that album enough to warrant listing.

I have every other album they have produced and I feel TAITA is their best. No bad song on that album IMO.
I understand people like the way they have "evolved' or whatever, but man I can't listen to anything after Vheissu and even some of that album is kind of meh.
