At least it's good to know where he stands and as far as the heat of the moment argument, I could see if he was in an argument with someone of that particular race and he used that slur, but for that to come out while talking about the way his wife dresses really shows where he stands IMO, it's ridiculous to defend it in this context. And of course it's news, he's a celebrity, not a private citizen, that's how it is if you hadn't noticed as unfair as it may seem.

If you say something inherently racist in the heat of the moment, that means to me that it's engrained in your consciousness. Calling someone an offensive name that isn't in that same vein (practicallly any other insult, including the others he allegedly threw at her) during an argument is different in my mind.
