That is why as a sales rep, you would teach them how easy it is to use it and do it. Sure 80% of them will forget what the hell you just said as soon as they leave the store, but hey you would have gotten them to buy the phone and that is all that matters.
When I worked at Walmart in electronics, I had to sale all kinds of crap to people from smartphones to tv to blu-ray players to videogame systems. And this was when blu-ray players and this gen videogame systems just came out.
90% of my customers were parents and grandparents who didn't have clue what they were buying, only that their kid or grandchild wanted it. But hey I could talk anybody into buying anything.
The key to sales is to keep the customer from looking at the price and get them focused on the features of that product. And no matter what, get them to buy something, even if it isn't the orginal product, find them a cheaper but similar product.
