I think I have some really bad calibration setting for my TV. Need some help.

I have an LG LH40. I was at walmart last night and I was playing their demo 360 and the little Samsung tv they used for it had a infinitely better picture than my TV. I was playing the MLB 2k10 demo and it looked fantastic. I then went and rented it and it looks much worse on my tv.

I have tried to find settings for the tv and I can literally only find 2 sets. I get that a lot of people like to keep their settings private, so maybe that's why I can't find any.

I also do not have the money right now to pay for a professional calibration.

Any help, or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Have you tried the AVS forums? I'd start there.

LG tvs generally aren't going to have the best picture when considering the big 3: Panasonic, Samsung and Sony.

Even with that in mind, LG gives the best user calibrations options. Much more than the other major brands.

    1) You can decide which of the presets looks the best to you...then make small tweaks to that.

    2) You can buy a calibration disc and make the needed adjustments. http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Video-...8681161&sr=8-1

I have an LG plasma and love it. PQ is very very good for a 720p set.

You know I have been wanting to create a thread like this for a minute. I think Odogg made a post about his TV being perfectly calibrated and he was seeing exactly what the devs wanted him to see, and it got me thinking, I didn't do crap to my TV.

Well, when I got it, it looked too real or something so I messed with the settings, and then replays in NCAA and Madden were all pixelated when the players would move, so I messed with it again.

all I know now, is I am like 90% sure I could get a better picture, but I dont know what i am doing.

I have a 46 inch samsung LED LCDTV. Anyone have a good resource to calibrate this thing properly?

Like I was saying, head over to the AVS forums. You should find a thread that has your particular tv. A lot of people post their tv settings. You can use one of those as a starting point.

Yup, AVS is a godsend to get base calibration settings for any TV.

I don't know, maybe I am not picky or lucked out, because I barely changed crap on my tv and it looks way better then any walmart demo tv's I have seen. Knock on wood, it stays that way LOL.

The tv image will look different than it does at the store. The lighting is different and when your viewing distance is different. Also, demo tvs are usually set on vivid or torch mode.

Yeah I think that is about the only thing I did was take that vivid mode off, maybe a couple of other things too, but I know I didn't spend longer then 5 minutes on it.

AVS is where I found my settings. I got lucky and a professional calibrated posted his entire report for the TV. If I wanted to, I could have even gone into the hidden settings and changed things that you are supposed to be able to change.

I feel your pain it took me two hours to set my Samsung LCD TV up. Then again I am not to good with electronics.

Here is a site that has an article on calibration. http://www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lcdt...libration.html

Thanks guys. I found awesome calibration set at AVS. Looks ten times better. It even had all the luminance settings.
