Looks like a shot for shot remake of the original, but cool trailer.

Also...very wicked song by Placebo in the trailer specifically made for the movie.

I don't understand the need for Hollywood to do these remakes of good foreign films that aren't even that old.

I don't understand the need for Hollywood to do these remakes of good foreign films that aren't even that old.

Aside from making the obvious buck, it's to share the story with American audiences who would otherwise not watch the original version, for whatever reason. Don't like reading subtitles, can't be bothered hunting down viewable versions of foreign films, or just don't have access to them... whatever.

Sometimes the remakes end up being better than the original for some. I personally thought the Hollywood remake of Ringu was better than the original.
