    Release Date:
    March 25th, 2011

Sucker Punch is Zack Snyder’s first movie not based on previous material, but an original idea that he came up with and turned into a screenplay with co-writer Steve Shibuya. Set in the 1950’s, Sucker Punch follows Baby Doll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Emily Browning is looking good... she's grown up since Lemony Snicket.

Also, Silversun Pickups in the trailer = win.

Sounds and looks a lot like what would happen if Pan's Labyrinth were made by Michael Bay.

But then again, Synder has a cool visual style about his films, and is a decent director. He's much better than that hack Bay. I'm curious about this, I liked Dawn of the Dead remake and Watchmen, loathed 300, though.

Snyder is definitely talented when it comes to visual style and action sequences. I'm not a big fan of his movies, though, because so far his style has dominated his characters and stories. Sucker Punch, however, looks like it could be the movie that finally has a story that is as capable as his visual style.

I'll watch whatever Snyder directs and this looks great so I'll be there at midnight.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

                      Merged the two threads together.

                      Movie is looking good.

                          Same.

Big *** special effects and eye candy are the main reasons i go to the movies these days. Otherwise i'd prefer to just wait and see it at blu ray at home.

Wow, I actually like a plot. To each his own, the eye candy can enhance a good movie but can never make a bad movie good.

For the record I'm not saying that this movie won't be good.

He's not saying that's what he's looking for in a MOVIE, just what he's looking for as a reason to go spend the money to see the movie in the theater. And I agree with him, if there's no real reason to go see it in the theaters and if it's not a movie I feel the need to see right away, I'll wait until I can watch it at home.
