The opening with that song was probably my favorite part of the movie. Zack Snyder knows how to start movies off right.

I wonder if Snyder will become a victim of his own success, ala M. Night. It seems these unique personality types eventually become consumed with their own style and start trying TOO hard to be different. I still want to see this, but reading through reviews, and comments in here, it just makes me wonder...

I've seen some reviewers for this movie already start comparing Snyder to Shymalan. I think if he just sticks to directing like jmood said he'll make some good movies. Snyder's strong point is the extravagant visuals he creates, excellent battle scenes, and a great soundtrack. Just don't let him write to story or dialogue. He had it easy for the Watchmen, but that's because he took it nearly word for word from the graphic novel.

Which is why Superman, with Nolan and company helping him, will be a big point in Snyder's career. A Superman movie with 300-type fight scenes and visuals will not please the fans, nor will Nolan stand for that, in my opinion. We may have to see what Snyder can do in a "realistic" (albeit, Superman realistic) type setting and feel.

Saw it on IMAX last night, it wasn't as terrible as the reviews made it to be. Snyder is an incredible action director, he just needs to stick to that.

Funny you say that because that's what Snyder said in an interview the other day.

"I've stretched this world of abstract reality so far that the awesome thing about Superman is that Superman lives in the real world," he says. "And it probably will be the most 'real' movie I've made. It will more real than even Dawn of the Dead."

Deborah Snyder realizes it's an odd thing to use the term "real" in the context of Superman, but she echoes that it's been the watchword for their new movie.

"It's weird that it's Superman, a guy from outer space, that's flying," she tells us. "But I think it's going to be a definite departure from the things he's done because the idea is to make him relevant in our world today. So the way you do that is you put him in our world exactly how it is and not in a stylized world."

So viewers shouldn't watch Sucker Punch and try to predict the look and feel of Superman?

"Superman will be a documentary compared to this," said Snyder.

Does the girl actually sing in the movie? She's on many of the soundtrack songs so I was wondering if there were musical-esqe sections.

Not physically. Only the background music. There isn't any kind of Across the Universe type thing going on in the movie.

The movie reminded me of Inception in the sense that a good part of the movie is spent two stages deep in an alternate world.. Very confusing movie and hard to follow at some points. I liked it alot though and am generally a fan of Zack Snyder's work, especially Watchmen and Legend of the Guardians.

Holy hell this movie was ridiculus on so many levels. Demon samari’s with gating guns, undead WWI Germans, fire-breathing dragons, chicks in stockings with guns and swords. That’s not even the half of it.

One of the most over the top movies I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t terrible, but it does try to be serious at the end and totally loses you.

2 stars but will be a cult film in 20 years I bet. Lots of hot chicks that kick ***.

Having watched it I'd say the Tron Legacy comparison is right on. Lots of eye and ear candy being the focus and while there's a deeper meaning there somewhere you have to look for it yourself. Watched the extended cut,I don't really see the reason for the R rating. If it was the "sex" scene, well there's been more shown on whatever 14 rated TV is called.

I finally caught this last night and I'm still not really sure how I feel about it. At first it was kinda hard to follow but I did eventually figure out what was going on.

Great action & visuals for sure but the story just didn't do it for me....especially the end.

That's my reaction to it as well. A great movie to show off your tv and sound system but not really worth watching as a great movie or anything.

I'm the opposite. I thought the story was good, the visuals were good, but the action was disappointing. The lack of connectivity between the action scenes made each one kind of boring.

So that whole deeper meaning if you look for it thing? Yah,I looked up the differences and much of that happens to be easily lost from the theatrical version. You'd have to look real hard there. Some people didn't even get the ending because the "high roller" scene was cut.

That said after seeing the difference I appreciate it for what it is more now.
