I'm sure that gives them more time tho to do various things such as jim/Dwight pretty much fighting. In a way tho it's pretty much a way to see how it works without him

Ricky Gervais will appear in an upcoming episode of NBC’s The Office, reprising his role as David Brent — the original boss in the UK version of the show.
The brief appearance will air on Jan. 27 and is described by insiders as a “small cameo” where Brent runs into his U.S. edition counterpart Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
Gervais co-created the much-beloved original Office, which ran for two seasons — and boasted a Christmas special — in the UK.
The scene was shot months ago and NBC hoped to keep the news quiet and surprise fans when the episode airs next week, but word leaked out Wednesday.

In his defense, you had to figure that NBC would advertise Steve Carell's last episode. So, you more than likely would've know before you turned on the show.

This episode is brilliant.

Michael celebrating with himself on video and Erin was so hilarious.

And Dwight's new year's resolution literally caused me to spit out my drink.
