    I need a memory expert

Can somebody look at these specs and tell me what my limits are on a memory upgrade. Specifically, I'm guessing I can't use 333mhz if it's saying 166. I'm having a hard time finding PC2700 that isn't 333mhz. I can go up to 2GB (currently at 1GB), so I'm gonna buy 2 1-gig sticks:

    (Compaq Presario 061 DQ181A-ABA S6500NX NA410)
    Memory Summary
    Maximum Capacity 2048 MBytes
Maximum Memory Module Size 32 MBytes
    Memory Slots 2
    Error Correction None
    DRAM Frequency 166.0 MHz
    Memory Timings 3-3-3-7 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

    Device Locator Slot 1
    Capacity 512 MBytes
    Memory Type DDR (PC2700)
    Speed 166 MHz
Supported Frequencies 133.3 MHz, 166.7 MHz
Memory Timings 2-3-3-6-0 at 133.3 MHz, at 2.5 volts (CL-RCD-RP-RAS-RC)
Memory Timings 2-3-3-7-0 at 166.7 MHz, at 2.5 volts (CL-RCD-RP-RAS-RC)
    Data Width 64 bits
    EPP SPD Support No
    XMP SPD Support No

    Device Locator Slot 2
    Manufacturer Smart Modular

Might want a mod to change the thread title to computer or desktop memory. As it is, people might think you're talking about memory as in how to remember stuff.

PC2700 runs at 166mhz but is accessed twice per clock cycle so it's marketed as running at 333mhz.

So it sounds like you're saying I'm safe.

Do you think this will be safe? ====>> http://cgi.ebay.com/1GB-DDR-PC2700-1...efaultDomain_0

I see where I misread that now..... thx for saving me the headache of a return!

I did just read that low density mem is globally more compatible while high density is not, though high is cheaper to make.
