Best netbook?
I need a laptop/netbook, but I only need it so I can have my e-textbooks in class and on the go.

Re: Best netbook?
Get a laptop......netbooks have no optical drive. I rather buy a $400 laptop over a $300 netbook anyday. -

Re: Best netbook?
Jump drives are all you normally need if you have a home computer... I use mine for work all the time and have only thought about needing an optical drive once. Big files I can even send via Bluetooth from my home PC to my netbook with no problems.
That said, I love my MSI Wind U123 a lot... it's perfect for my needs and I've had no issues running anything I want including PhotoShop programs once I upgraded the RAM to 2GB. I mostly need to have connectivity almost everywhere (there's always a wireless connection to hop onto in Denver it seems) and have all my work files with me at all times, so it's perfect for my uses.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Best netbook?
I never thought I would like a netbook, but once I got one I use the thing all the time for everything but gaming.
Edit: Oh, and for the rare occasion you might need it, spend $50 on an external DVD burnerLast edited by Burns11; 08-23-2010, 05:03 PM.Comment

Re: Best netbook?
I <3 my asus Eee pc netbook, 10 hours of battery is just win and its a trooper, two years old and gets used a lot and still works great for internet and small tasks like most people use their monster computers and laptops on because they don't realize they need that much power for anything they do.Comment

Re: Best netbook?
Went with an HP G62-237us.
It was only $430 at office max. I really liked how small the netbooks were, but I figured I migth as well have a full functioning computer.

Re: Best netbook?
2 completely different beasts, get a netbook for portability and battery life, a notebook if you need extra raw power or larger screen.
I never thought I would like a netbook, but once I got one I use the thing all the time for everything but gaming. plus i use my Ipad for all other things not related to my netbooks as mentioned!

Re: Best netbook?
Thought I'd revive this thread instead of creating a whole new one for the same question.
I'm looking to get a Netbook, but mostly because of the price. The only intentions I have of using it for are a little web browsing (research, OS, sports websites), my music (I don't have a huge library either, max of 2000 songs probably. Basically somewhere to add/remove stuff from my iPod), and school (papers, etc). I figured of these 3 intentions, only the music may cause a problem because it can grow quickly. Though I figured an external HD or my PS3 could hold songs that I didn't immediately need on the Netbook.
So would buying a ~$350 Netbook be worth it for me? And any suggestions? I did a little light reserach on Best Buy.com's site but I figured OS is a bit more tech savvy. I'd likely use a combo of wired and wireless (mostly at school) so having an ethernet port is a must.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Best netbook?
Go to Office Max or Office Depot. I got a 15" HP laptop for $50 cheaper there then anywhere else I could find, even amazon.
For $350 you can get a laptop. I think that's how much mine was.Comment
