    Windows 7 Mobile Vs Android

I was thinking last time to myself basically when Windows 7 Mobile comes out its gonna compete with android to get some of the marketshare......

Who do you guys think will win this war?

Android is getting better and better with 2.2 around the corner for most phones... plus of the rumored gingerbread coming ( to boost up gaming and more apps) looks very promising.... the devlolpement tools are iffy i have heard and the limited meomry did cause problems for apps to be bigger ( i think thats not that case anymore) I also heard Android picked up the UI guy from WebOS ( palm)

Windows 7 mobile seems to have potenial ... the devolpemental tools sure seem good it also has a app to log in to Xbox Live ( very cool) the UI seems pretty good as well....... Will it be a good product from MS or just another Vista/Kin? or will they come prepared?

    just wanted some opinions....

Re: Windows 7 Mobile Vs Android

windows 7 looks to have a more polished UI that will be the same on every phone (no custom skins, such as sense or touchwiz). Windows 7 is pushing hard to have a very quality gaming experience with xbox live integration and bringing over many big-name franchises.

However, at launch, windows 7 mobile will be lacking in many areas. First off, not a whole lot of apps will be available. Many key features will not be supported at launch, this includes voip, multitasking and cut, copy and paste.

The only thing I don't like about android, is the lack of uniformity. I wish more companies just used a stock version of android. However, I hear android 3.0 is revamping the UI. Hopefully, phone manufacturers won't see the need for their skins after 3.0 launches.

Windows 7 mobile will be interesting, but not fully mature at release.

Personally, making Android look and behave how I want it to is the best thing about it.

The biggest appeal of Android is that you can make the phone look the way you want it to look. You can customize it. So I highly doubt they will ever change that with Android, because if they did, people would just buy an Iphone then.

Far as Windows 7........I see it competing more with Blackberry and the Iphone for the business market more so then competing with Android.

Windows phones have always been business oriented. Sure it has games on it now, but nevertheless it still is a business phone.

Droid is selling really nicely it's here to stay IMO .... Droid x, evo , droid 2 etc all have sold well and they are all released like a couple months before windows 7....consumers aren't really awaiting the launch of windows 7

I will be interested in it but not for version 1.0 maybe look into it next year.

Can't wait for 2.2 for my droid then 3.0!!!!!

i do agree tho windows 7 may get some blackberry people

even if you android phone has the stock ui, you can still use apps like launcher pro and widget locker to alter its appearance.

hmm...an OS with a bad rep, new streamlined look, and designed to intentionally allow as little customization as possible vs. a fairly fresh new OS gaining popularity, multiple looks, encourages as much customization as possible. I'm pretty sure the only competition the two have is that they both want their phones to be sold. other than that they're completely different in every possible way.

can either of these OS's be truly optimized for performance and power efficiency without being specifically designed for one piece of hardware? seems to me that the iphone and blackberry will always have this advantage over these hardware neutral OS's. Am I thinking about that right?
