    Let Me In...

Loved the Original. Really hope this remake lives up to it...

The only reason I can think of that makes me want to see this is Chloe.

I'm pretty sure that's the reason why he has no real interest in this one. The original was a good movie, this one, like most remakes, will probably fall short.

Yes I have. The foreign language is really the only thing that will be different and is, sadly, the only reason why most Americans won't see it. I know that there will be stuff taken out (I would guess that certain audience segments would be up in arms due to some instances in the original) and that, most likely, there will be more dramatized "action" scenes than in the original. I'm not saying its going to be a bad movie and obviously the screen writer is smart to do this for financial reasons, but as a major film fan Chloe is the only reason I have in seeing the new version.

I don't think any "remake" will be as bad as the color remake of Pyscho.

Agreed with Fresh here. Chloe makes this a must watch for me. But, the original is such a good film that I'm interested in seeing where they took this remake. Apparently, it follows the same beats as the original but with better scares because of a greater budget.

Honestly, that disappoints me because I thought the original was so good because it did not overdo anything. That trailer makes this feel like a typical horror film and Let The Right One In is not a typical horror film.

Either one of two things is going to happen in my opinion:

            1. People will be disappointed expecting a typical horror and end up bored because it'll be too much like the original and the casual audience just doesn't like that sort of thing.

            2. The film will be horrible because it will try to scare on screen rather than psychologically - which the original did so well.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Yeah, I didn't think the first one was "scary" but I really enjoyed how subtle everything was that went on was (ie: Eli's vampire form, the climax) and in the end the movie was a coming of age/love story with a vampire, thriller wrapper. What was on screen wasn't gory, but after you put the pieces together it was really crazy how brutal the girl really was.

Was her caretaker supposed to be in there for comedy relief? The dude was an idiot.

I found this at SlashFilm where the phrase "super-creepy" was used to describe it. The scene didn't really do anything for me, at least not enough to get me more interested.

Totally respect this. As a fan of the genre, I will go see it. The trailer didn't look bad IMO. Might have to re-watch the original again before seeing this-1 to get a better sense on what was done differently

I loved the original. This one looks a little scarier but, probably won't be as well done. If that makes sense.

Brad Miska from Bloody Disgusting Horror has written his review of this-1. Looks like we have a winner on our hands. This review solidifies a opening weekend viewing for me ...

Ultimately, if the Swedish version is near perfection, Matt Reeves's version achieves complete supremacy. Masterpiece is an overused word, but it's hard to think of another so powerful. Let Me In is the new standard for vampire movies.

I saw a trailer for this before seeing Machete and it actually got me pumped up for this movie. It definitely looks a lot more creepier and scarier, but still need to see how the boy and girl's relationship is on screen.

Interesting. The swedish one is one of the few films i actually own, and now its getting actual positive reviews. Interesting indeed. I may need to see this.
