    ESPN Classic

Does ESPN still broadcast this channel? I never really watched it, and I moved so my cable changed and haven't seen it.

Not that I would watch it. So much potential with this, but the only time it was ever good was the week leading up to a major sporting event and they decided to show sporting events and not poker or wrestling.

Yes. Only time I ever watch it is if a game gets moved over. I'd probably watch it more if it was in HD here.

          ESPNU >>>>>> ESPN Classic

Only thing I miss is Cheap Seats. And I'll take that tradeoff for extra football games and the ability to watch SportsNation when ****ing tennis is on.

Oh no doubt, the only time I wish I could get Classic back is gonna be when ESPN pushes USA World Cup Qualifying there in favor of a basketball game. But hey, that's what he have the internet for, right?

The Canadian version of the network is even worse! It's all the same old stuff and a lot of it is hockey (blech) So when I lost my free preview of the channel I wasn't complaining. I really don't have a need for a channel like that these days though I like to look at the schedule of the US version during the college football season to see if there's any interesting old games that I might be interested in.

they used to show (and may still do) classic nascar races for the track that they're at that week ... it's was always fun to watch how different the tracks have changed, the older cars, the crewmen with no helmets and cigarettes in their mouths, etc ...

It was a tragedy when they canceled Cheap Seats.

Same here. I think in the last year comcast has finally put NFL Network, SPEED, and ESPNU on the regular digital package but I no longer get ESPN.Classic.

Haha, the cigarette comment provides a funny visual.

                        I also miss cheap seats.

ESPN Classic would be pretty dynamite if it were just wall-to-wall classic sports games.

I agree. Give us classic, meaningful games but they fail at that

Hard to do these days what with the MLB, NFL, NHL and other leagues having their own networks. They use their material from the vaults for content and shut Classic down. At least Classic has the wealth of footage from the ABC/ESPN College football and basketball vault.

They should put Cheap Seats out on DVD. I ended up DVRing whenever they showed re-runs, but I'd buy it in a second if they put it on DVD.
