I don't want to say Community's dead yet, because it's early, but that's not encouraging.

I guess it all comes down to what NBC is expecting as far as rating when they're competing with The Big Bang Theory's juggernaut. There's always the possibility they could essentially concede that time slot, and Community looks relatively cheap to make.

It's hard to believe that the NBC Thursday night comedy lineup is tanking so badly especially with 30 Rock being among those shows. I know NBC has been patient in the past and seeing as this is a theme night for the network I would hope if ratings are at least consistent and maybe respectable that they give these shows at least a season or two to build an audience.

      We'll see....

They are consistently bad ... but it is NBC, so bad is relative. NBC will probably keep them there because of all the press and online viewing they get. NBC really doesn't have much.

Yeah agreed, especially for 30 Rock because its already in its 5th season.

Also, its one of the best shows on TV. end/shameless plug lol

30 Rock's always struggled with ratings unless it had The Office as a lead-in.

Frankly, 30 Rock probably shouldn't have even gotten a second season. I was shocked when it did. The massive pile of awards got it a few bonus seasons, and then The Office lead-in got it respectable ratings, and then just as I suspected moving it away from The Office would cause it to lose viewers.

I remember David Letterman asking Fey if she thought her Sara Palin impression swayed a lot of voters to go Democrat, and she said she couldn't even sway people to watch 30 Rock.

NBC should just relax on the cancellation decisions. They have no hit shows, so they have nothing in terms of lead-ins. So how can you expect other shows to become hits? Not to mention, the majority of their new shows are normally just ripoffs of hit shows on other networks.

They don't have the balls to cancel 30 Rock because despite the ratings, it brings tons of press to NBC since Fey is a huge female star, and the show has that "inside" Hollywood gimmick where all of the big stars will guest on it, and it gets nominated due to the content. It really isn't half as good as the awards it's nominated for, it's just the perfect kind of show for the Emmys.

Yeah, most networks don't think like that. They usually want to win each and every time slot. It just doesn't happen and sometimes you have to know you won't win. You have to try and just get respectable numbers. FOX likes to cancel stuff when it is getting ok numbers but not winning, even if it is competing with a show already getting 15 million.

Sorry, been incredibly busy at work. Traveling across the country, events having me work from morning to midnight. I'm hoping to make another update soon with some info we've all missed in the past week.

Looking at that link it's a little discouraging to see that THE DEFENDERS is on shaky ground. I've seen bits and pieces of the show and like what i've seen so far. It's quite offbeat and different then most shows of its ilk but that's what I like about it.

                            Hopefully the ratings improve.

Yea, that's been my main source. Just wanted a place to put that info into so people can just see it in one place. Also like that we can discuss such things.

My Generation was canceled. Did we already mention that? Can't remember.

It's awesome to have this thread...I'm weird in that I like following how shows are doing (even if I don't watch) and like to see what's cancelled when. Partly because it kinda shows what strategies the networks are following and what people are watching.

My Generation just seemed eh...too many shows on and one like that will get lost in the shuffle.
