    Personal Paranormal Encounters and Stories

We got something about Alien stories. Let's get one going on this topic.
I have a few unexplainable things I've witnessed and I'm sure quite a few of us do.

    Let's hear some guys!
    NFL: Green Bay Packers
    NCAA: Wisconsin Badgers
    NBA: Milwaukee Bucks
    MLB: Chicago Cubs

Re: Personal Paranormal Encounters and Stories

I got some time, let me kick this off. My sister in-law house is haunted. You can see man walking in the front yard walking into the wall. I have seen it 3 times, my wife has seen it, my sister in-law and her husband seen it dozens of times.

The closet floor in the bedroom of her house, when they 1st moved into that house use to boil up blood. Did that for weeks.

Anyway they did some history on that house. A man use to live in that house with his kids. He ended up killing his kids in that house and eventually killed himself in that house. Decades ago, like 40 or more years ago, where now it appears he is just walking through the wall, turns out back then it where the original front door was.

They moved the front door a good 15 feet over and put on a different side of the house 20 years ago and walled up the original door.

Ok another encounter for you guys.....

Northside of Chicago there is these woods called the devil's woods. Within these woods is some old cemetaries and native american bural grounds in the heart of it. At night time there, you can hear some of the most unnatural sounds that you will ever hear. Not only that but in the shadows you will see weird looking eyes looking back at you and always have the feeling of being followed.

      Another encounter .......

15 years ago in chicago, I was coming home from high school, I'm walking right, sunny day I see a shadow on the ground coming up from behind me. You know the shadow you get when somebody is walking behind you really fast because they trying to walk past you.

I see it, pretty tall shadow with somebody with long curly hair. So I think it is a woman trying to get by, so I stop and step to the side to let her by, however when I turned around there was nobody there. It was the oddest thing ever. There was no trees on that block, no houses or apartment building doorways, no store front doorways, no parked cars......literally nothing there where a person who could turn in at.

13 years ago.......I was at this library. Not your average library, it was one of those old huge libraries. I had a history project to do but I needed to find this book that was a pain in the arse to find, I been to 3 libraries prior but they didn't have it. So I am at this library pissed off, tired, annoyed, librarian was no help, their card catelog was no help because they didn't keep their books in proper order.

I'm looking right.......this older lady appear out of nowhere, I'm thinking maybe she just came from the other side of the bookcase, since those bookcases were 10ft high. The lady says I think your book is right over here, it is a very good book, it helped me a lot.

So I see the book on the shelf, grab it, look at it, think to myself good lord this book has to be over 200 years old, I mean it was that worn out looking. I go to look up and say well thank you mrs......and I can't find her. I thought nothing of it, thought well maybe she left to go to the bathroom or whatever.

Anyway I make up to the librarian up in the front by the door and she goes oh you found the book you were looking for. I said yeah this older lady that is in helped me find it, if it wasn't for her I would have never found it. Librarian looked at me and said what older lady ? You are the only one here other then some other student age people, there hasn't been any older women in here all day.

I was like no, it is an older lady in here, she talked to me and everything. Librarian goes again no sorry, there isn't older lady here I been sitting here for the past 3 hours straight, no woman walked through these doors.

why do you always have to come in and bash them?

If I'm taking your responses to seriously my bad.

            I have two.

First I was sleeping in my bed in the middle of summer when something woke me up. I looked around to see what it was but it was nothing, so i try to go to sleep. Within minutes I feel this long coarse hair caressing my neck, and then begin to sway back and forth. I was scared still, and refused to open my eyes out of sheer terror. Somehow, with all the adrenaline in me, I was almost put to sleep. I woke up the next morning and found three long black strands of hair in my bed.

The next one is I was in my basement with my first ever camera phone and decided to take a picture while moving my camera from left to right. Took the snapshot and looked at the picture, there were 50 odd ghostly faces looking at me.

            It's all scary stuff

EDIT: I probably read into that wrong fishpea

Reposted from a thread earlier this year

last November it was late at night maybe around 3am and I'm walking back to my room from the kitchen as i'm about to turn the corner to my room I was walking by the glass doors that lead to the pool i saw an oldish man sitting on the edge of the pool, he looked like something from an old Esquire drawing and looked very 1920's in regards to his style. It wasn't due to being tired or overtired as I was neither, nor was it an actual person, I truly believe there was something there that night that was supernatural.

Also, I experienced, one night waking up from a dream where my wrist was being grabbed because I physically felt my wrist being grabbed (hard enough to wake me up) and there was no one in my bed room.

I still remember those like they were yesterday.

Although I've never had a paranormal experience at a library I still find them to be very creepy, especially at night.

Re: Personal Paranormal Encounters and Stories

When I was about 15 my sister's aunt was killed in a car wreck so we had to go stay with the family that night as she had 3 young sons. They lived out in the woods in a big old house that was pretty scary in itself. So we're setting there about midnight in my sisters room just talking, everyone else in the house is asleep, and we hear someone walking in the hall. It sounds like clomping along. So we are a little scared at this point but we go out to see who it could be and there's no one there. So we go back to the bedroom, at this point we're both pretty unnerved.

So about 10 minutes later we hear the clomping again in the hall so we get up, summon our courage and slowly open the bedroom door, just in time to see someone wearing purple go into the boys room. My sister looks very freaked out, white as a sheet, and runs in the bedroom the boys are staying in and flicks on the light. There's no one there except the three boys who are now beginning to wake up very irritated. My sister turns out the light and begins to shake. Then she tells me that her aunt had been wearing a purple jump suit when she died.

Although we were sure the spirit meant no harm, and in fact was probably quite the opposite, a mom coming back to look over her boys, we were scared to death and didn't ever go to sleep that night. I couldn't wait to get out of there the next day. My sister never mentioned it to her uncle or any of the boys but I'll never forget it. It's the first time I'd ever had anything paranormal happen to me.

Re: Personal Paranormal Encounters and Stories

The only thing remotely close to paranormal or ghostly that has ever happened in my family was when I was a kid my grandfather was dying of cancer and every morning i'd go to his room and dab his forehead with a wet cloth and telling him he'd be alright and get better soon. Well my family and I had to leave after a couple weeks. (my grandfather lived in another country) Well the VERY next day we got a call and my grandfather had passed on.

I like to think that my being there for my grandfather and encouraging kept him alive.

On a more spookier note, my aunt's husband collapsed overnight with a massive heart attack and my aunt called us crying and screaming and we told her to do mouth to mouth and call 911. So while my aunt was doing that we were all crying and going crazy. My mother then said she could smell death and believed that my uncle was dead. It turned out at the moment my mother sensed that the paramedics told my aunt that my uncle was gone.

                  Freaky eh?

Well, those weren't really ghostly nor really paranormal like in the strictest sense but interesting anecdotes nonetheless.

Re: Personal Paranormal Encounters and Stories

Never saw a ghost but I have had "paranormal" experiences. When i was in Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA I was stationed at E Company 2/19, The barracks we used were built in the 1970s and had more than a few suicides within them(one while I was there). At night we would here people walking in the outside hallways, bathroom doors opening and closing, showers turning on and off, and just felt that creepy a** feeling. The First night I was there I was on fireguard and I heard a bathroom door close, since I was about 40 minutes into the shift I walked into the bathroom to discover no one in there. I feel pretty confident saying that Everyone in my company had some sort of experience like that.

It does not stop at Basic though, just about every soldier or Marine I ever knew had some story like mine. A good friend who was operating out of one of Saddam's Prisons in Iraq said that was the most terrifying experience of his life(he had seen combat). At night he would tell me he would hear screaming, people getting whipped, heavy foot steps, chains rattling.

I honestly never really believed in ghosts before I joined the Military, I know what I heard though, it had no explanation or reason. Personally I dont really care if people do or dont believe in ghosts, I guess you have to experience it for yourself to actually believe.

Cusefan - I think you're right. Also< i know sometimes people think the "creepy someone-is-watching-me" feeling is just a way to embellish a story but I actually lived in a house where I had that feeling, it was even more intense in a certain part of the house (the bathroom). I asked my mom to come over and stay and didn't mention the feeling or anything about it. She came over and after about 30 minutes she said "you ever feel like you're being watched here?" and I was stunned that she felt it too. Then about an hour later she went to the restroom and when she came back she said "I think the bathroom is the worst part in this house".

It's definitely a very real feeling. However some folks aren't as in tune with it. My older sister stayed at my during her divorce and I didn't say anything to her, in part to not freak her out but also to see if she'd say something independently like my mom did. After she'd been there a few months and was moving out I asked her about it and she said she didn't sense anything odd at all.

Its not that I dont believe you, but HALO school is not at Fort Benning and VERY few people go through HALO school every year, among those who do are very bad *** people as they are in some sort of specials ops.

That's pretty much how my Dad was.

The night before he died, he told me he loved me for the first time I could ever remember hearing it, and this was 6 years ago. It was the night Lost debuted, which is just an odd way of me remembering how it all happened. He was on his deathbed with hospice at the house and dying of Cancer, so we knew it was coming soon.

So he gave me the closure and I told my wife I knew he would die that night. The phone rang at 4AM and my Mom told me he had passed, I knew right when the phone rang what happened.

The thing that always gave me chills was my Mom was by my Dad's side pretty much 24/7. She got up to take a quick shower about 3:30, was gone maybe 10 minutes, when she came back, he had passed away. Before taking the shower, she told him it was okay to go, told him that it would be fine. It was like he needed it from her, as like I said, she was gone 10 minutes to return to him being gone.

                              Always will stay with me.
