    Sirius vs XM Radio

I am looking at getting satellite radio and was wondering what folks opinions are between Sirius and XM. My only must have is being able to listen to MLB games, so if I understand it correctly XM is the only one that has that. Is this correct?

    Anything else I should know?

Yeah, but they still operate as 2 different companies. Ie. They both don't carry the same stuff. Ex. Howard Stern is Sirius only. They have some radios that allow you to pick and choose what you want from both.

To the OP: Just go to the website and get the one that has MLB. IIRC, I think XM has MLB. Good luck.

Depends what sport you want to hear more of. MLB is XM only, NBA, NFL, Nascar are all on Sirius. I've had Sirius for 3 years now and I don't even listen to FM Radio or CD's anymore.

True but they still offer the same content with the Best of Sirius/XM package. However, if you just want MLB, then XM is the way to go because it initially comes with it.

Thanks to everyone...that is what I thought from looking at the websites. It was confusing though because XM advertises that they have the NFL as well and Sirius' website says they are exclusive with the NFL.

I'm thinking of getting XM or Sirius now too...

So from what I understand the only exclusive stuff is the Best of XM or Best of Sirius, so if I were to get either and then get the Best of the other one I'd get the same music, sports, etc, right?

So my only decision would be which basic package I like more? It seems like all the music channels and whatnot are the same for both, just not some talk and sports shows that are exclusive.

Any input on device to buy? I'm thinking a dock and play one that I could use at home or in the car (or someone else's car)...I don't mind having something docked, and really doesn't make sense to get a new radio....

I've had both. If you get XM with best of Sirius, the price equals out to Sirius's basic package of about $20.00 a month. With that you get the NFL channel and Howard amongst other channlea exlusive to Sirius.

Yeah, that's what I think I'm going to do, XM with best of Sirius...

XM Xpress RCI link is what I'm thinking of getting...looks like the better player vs the cheaper one, and I don't need the one that can be both Sirius and XM (the best of Sirius package is good enough)...

                    Think that'd be good?

A little annoying that I have to buy it online to get a better deal...or can I go to Best Buy and still somehow get more discounts? I did find some other sites that have similar deals, may do that.

Also, with the online streaming and the mobile (iPhone, android) apps, can multiple people be logged in at once? My girlfriend has a Droid 2 and I'd like for her to be able to use the app (or stream on a computer) using my account while I may be doing the same thing (on computer or app) or in my car...Is this a problem? Do they limit this stuff at all?

I've had Sirius (and then the combo) since 2004. I don't listen to anything else, unless I'm listening to a local sporting event on FM . Easily one of the best purchases I've made.

Thanks everyone...found a great deal on Amazon for the Xpress RCI and am getting it mailed tomorrow for just under 130. Best Buy and local places wanted 170 lol. I'm gonna have Best Buy install it for 40 bucks (they wire the antenna, hide the wires, and also give me a hardwire power to the battery). Not too bad for installation, and I know I'd do a crappier job installing and hiding the wire behind all the stuff.

I can spend 40 bucks and have them mount the actual unit, but I think I can do that myself pretty easily with the docks given, but we'll see what they offer for 40 bucks when I'm there.

yeah I use it from time to time. It loses connection a lot when you are moving around though. At least for me it does.

I got the app for my andriod phone and it works pretty good but will buffer a bit with in 3G when you move the phone, IMO it's best used with WiFi.
