Didn't ESPN 2 start off that way? I know they had the "cool" funky graphics and skewed more towards a youth market but as time went on it became more conventional.

Yeah, I always laugh when there's old clips with those graphics. The most entertaining, of course, is Jim Rome and "Chris" Everett.

This is fine with me, I won't watch it, but removing women's sports from ESPN and ESPN2 will pave the way for more broadcasting of other sports.
        NFL: Green Bay Packers
        MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
        NBA: Denver Nuggets
        NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins
NCAA: Air Force Falcons, Penn State Nittany Lions

          Hopefully, some intelligent analysis.

They should have their own network so this is a great idea. A channel dedicated to women's sports. It solves two issues: men that didn't want to watch women sports on ESPN and women that want to watch their own sports network (and yes, there's a market for it).

I learned about this network while working the Women's Sports Foundation event last week. ESPNW was one of the sponsors. Unfortunately, for the network, I was paying attention to the amazing, beautiful women athletes on stage and there were many of them. If she's beautiful, chances are she was there and those uniforms whether professional, Olympics, X Games or whatever do them no justice.

My favorite event of the year.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

You should know the unwritten OS rule that if you mention that you post the Youtube clip....

I don't mind the studio shows but screw poker. Is that even a sport? Why not replace poker with MMA? Is ESPN anti-MMA or something?

I wouldn't even mind if ESPN adding more sports documentaries instead of poker.
