The thing I hate about these kinds of movies is that the humans win. Let's be honest with ourselves, with that kind of technology like one little alien dude could kill all of us in a day.

Some of the other trailers I've seen make it look terrible.

Reading this makes it sound not that intriguing either:

After a night of partying, a group of friends are distracted when beams of light awaken everyone in Los Angeles, that then attracts every person like a moth to a flame. As the night progresses, they soon discover that once addicted to the light they vanish into thin air, as well as extraterrestrial forces that later threaten to swallow the entire human race.[3]

or

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

The trailers I've seen in theaters never even hint at that and wow, if that's what the movie is about, I see why they didn't.

Saw this movie over the weekend:

I liked the beginning of the movie, but the ending sucked.
It's like the writers too War of the Worlds and smashed "District 9" at the end.

I wish we got more explanation of why the creatures needed human brains.
Were the various alien races becoming extinct and they needed human brains to activate their humanoid forms?

I really didn't like the ending. I would have preferred seeing them make it to the boat and thinking they were safe at sea when suddenly some huge alien surfaced and showed them that these aliens were everywhere.

The movie only cost $10M to make and since it grossed over $110M in the US alone (not including DVD sales), they're going to make a sequel.

I can't say I really enjoyed the movie but when it comes out on satellite, I'll watch it.
It had potential, but the ending just killed it for me.
