      Re: Most Disturbing Movies

I saw Audition sometime last year, and didn't think it was bad at all. Definitely not atop the "most disturbing movies" list for me.

I saw The Human Centipede a couple of years ago, and although it was pretty disturbing, it was actually a fun film to watch too. Not like I get off on that stuff or whatever, but it's one where you're rooting for the victims, so it's quite the opposite effect. There are some movies where I couldn't care less if the good guys get killed and I just love seeing them get slaughtered haha.

Yeah, Jesus Camp is right up there with the worst I've seen. Irreversible and Requiem for a Dream have always stuck out to me, however.

Lords of Salem was pretty weird, but I liked it.

I'm sure it'd be far more disturbing for a 40-year-old Christian mother, that's for sure.

                Re: Most Disturbing Movies

I didn't think Audition was that bad. Martyrs was good, stuck with me. Frontiers is ok, wasn't as disturbing as I thought I thought it would be.

I looked up all those top 10 underground/foreign disturbing/shock movies people talk about on the Internet and I just found myself becoming desensitized, it just stopped affecting me. A couple scenes in that Angels Meloncholy movie made me flinch, but I was more focused on how weird that movie was in general, slow paced, bizarre, and some random over the top stuff sprinkled in here or there. Just not inspired movie making.

Serbian Film tries way too hard. Other than once scene I wasn't phased. Not the end all mindscrew that reviews tell you it is. It tries, don't get me wrong, but instead of saying "wow that's horrible" I found myself saying "that's just over the top ridiculous" and shrugged it off.

Mordum was somewhat effective. The effects were somewhat realistic enough to make me flinch here or there.

The first time I saw House of 1000 Corpses I thought it was one of the most disturbing things ever made. Since then I've seen it enough to quote the movie top to bottom.

                        Descent.

The subject matter is rough, but it's really the end of the movie that tops off the disturbance level. As Bradley Nowell once said in 'New Song', "I heard that payback's a mother****ing bitch."

The Hills Have Eyes (remake) has a scene that's pretty difficult to watch.

I Spit On Your Grave 2 came out yesterday to limited theaters and then blu ray on the 24th. It's not really a sequel. It's a different girl who gets raped and then kills everyone.

This is one movie I won't be seeing.

I came here to post this.

The movie itself isn't anything to write home about -- bad acting, cheap plot, silly dialogue. Annoying, really, to listen to teens babble back and forth. But the final thirty minutes are mortifying.
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.
