Re: Black Friday 2010
I need a new laptop.
Out of these which would you guys recommend:
- HP 15.6" Laptop w/Intel Core i3 Processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, Windows 7 Home Premium
- Sony Vaio 15.5" Laptop w/Intel Dual-Core Processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD Bundle
- Toshiba 15.6" Laptop w/AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, HP Wireless Printer
Also, is 1GB of RAM really that important?
I only use the computer to search the web. I don't play any computer games.Last edited by KG; 11-23-2010, 01:14 PM.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2010
Would you use the laptop for Microsoft Word? If so, Any bit of ram is good, however, having 4gb of ram may do the trick. I only have 3, so 4gb of ram should suffice. Out of those 4, for only web surfing, I'd go with whichever is cheapest. If you plan on storing a ton of media, get you one of the two that has the 500gb HD that is the cheapest out of the 2.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2010
The one in my office is the one I use everyday....for HOURS....which is the one I use to do the rosters for MLB The Show....so I would say I log 6-8 hours a night at times...(for a good stretch of time)....and have had no problems...
That's with using not only the full screen...but also the PiP for most of that time.
MLB looks GREAT on that set.

Re: Black Friday 2010
Unfortunately, the only people who will actually get this are already camping out in front of BB's. I counted 3 or 4 tents and about 6 or 7 people in front of ours yesterday. That line will triple or quadruple between now and Thanksgiving morning.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2010
People don't start lining up here til early Thursday afternoon.
You will be better off in the long run with a "black friday" laptop from the $300-400 range. My dad got a $200 Toshiba a few years back and it was worthless after 2 years.
My GF wanted a $200 laptop last year and I bit the bullet to pay the difference on getting the $300 one. Was definitely the best decision.Comment
