    DirecTV deals?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any deals either currently going on or coming soon. I've been on their site, just didn't know if there were any other places to look for 'better' deals. Should I call for the best deals, or better off just ordering online? I've been a cable guy for the past 5 yrs, so going DirecTV will be a big time difference. Just want the good deals.

Go to Best Buy or Walmart, they usually have a sales rep hanging out at those type of stores that sell tv's. I see the Comcast girl rep all the time. Other then that their website is the next best thing.

I find calling doesn't work because they will just omitt the fact they have a deal and try to get you to pay regular price from the start.

If you sign up through Costco, I think you can get $100 cash card back (another $100 or $200 if you buy a new TV).

I think your best bet is to call them and tell them that you are thinking about switching and ask them what they can offer you...keep asking them what else?

I threatened to leave once my contract was up and they threw all sorts of discounts, equipment and free channels my way.

I signed up last year during their "NFL Sunday Ticket" offer, which they are probably running this year. Basically for 5 months I paid for only Sunday Ticket and had their best package free of charge. After the 5 months ended, I dropped to a more budget friendly package (Choice Plus HD).

As was stated by the previous posters, the big cable companies will bend over backwards to keep you, I've had friends call Comcast and want off their service, only to get 6 months free of their best TV package and other ridiculous deals. The crazy thing is, they usually just call back after a year and say they're going to cancel again and get another great package and stick with the cable.

Meh, I'm not going to stick with Insight Cable. I don't like the service, and want to get something that will allow me to show off the 3D TV, lol. Insight rep said that they will be airing a few events in 3D over the next 6 months. Not enough for the price.

if you have cable in your area and they offer plenty of HD, stick with cable.
I wish cable was offered in my area.

I really have no complaints from direct TV other than the fact you have to buy your converter boxes yourself, whereas if you had cable, they would just charge you the lease fee of $5 bucks a month. Which you pay for DirectTv as well.

Also dont like how they get you under contract for another 2 years if you get another converter. Weak!

Edit- seeing how you would be a new costumer, you would get your converters for free. So in that case, I would switch as well.
