I wound up going to P.C. Richard and picking up the Panasonic TCP50-G25.
He would have given me a '58 inch for practically the same price, but I measured everything out with the entertainment center and 50 was really the largest it could accommodate.

Anyway....it's a nice 1080p Plasma with the built in apps for Netflix and such(which is a homerun, since I wanted to hook a PC up to it anyway for Netflix...although I have conflicting info on whether the Netflix app made it in for the set. I haven't set it up yet obviously )

I got the monitor and a 2 year warranty for $799.(I get the warranty, since basically it's a third of the price for us and this particular P.C. Richards always takes out things back for repair pretty much no questions asked. We buy a LOT of things from this place....and they are very good to us....so it's kind of a courtesy)
    Pretty good deal IMO.

Congrats on the purchase. Like previously mentioned, make sure you lower the contrast (50-60). Assuming you use your tv approx. 4 hrs a day, your "break in period" is about a month. Also, make sure what you're watching/gaming takes up the entire screen. Lastly, and pretty much common sense-- don't leave a static image on the screen for hours on end.

PS- - Don't get alarmed by a little image retention. It goes away within seconds to a few minutes. That's common on a new plasma.

I'm finally home to my LG. Charging the 3D Glasses for the first time, getting ready to delve into some 3D watching. Wife hasn't watched it without me... She's too good, haha.

That's actually a nice set. I saw it yesterday, I had to run out to HHGregg to pick up some more Christmas items. If it's your first foray into HD, then you'll enjoy it.

Looks like a good set with nice features. Doesn't say if it's a fully backlit LED or just edge lit LED. Depending on your needs and placement, 1080p on a 32" set might be overkill.

If you can get a good price, go for it. If it's in the $500 range, you can definitely get more screen for those same dollars.

              Thanks for the input guys!

Im going to continue to do my research.

Im just looking for something for my bedroom, I plan on saving for a 50" in the near future for living room.

I was also looking at this Proscan deal at Walmart but I have a feeling the set is not good.

Yeah I rather get more screen for that price. Depends on where you going to put it at though. In a bedroom then yeah 32 inches is fine. In a living room, 32 inches is small, will look even smaller if you put it inside of an entertainment center.

Yea im stuck on LED, I was talkin with my mom a couple days ago and she told me she wanted a LED, I didnt even knew what it was (reason why I asked early in this thread)

I was previously after LCD however.

                      I've got a 50" Plasma.

My only issue with it is that if I play a couple of games of Madden or 2K11 in a row I start to see the score display being retained. Or if my girlfriend watches a show on a non-HD channel and doesn't change the screen size formatting so the black bars are on the sides.

Other than that though it's pretty great, although I do notice pixelation every once in a while when I'm watching football, not as crisp as I'd like.

I'll probably eventually get an LED for a bulk of the use and then move the plasma into the bedroom to watch movies or something.

What contrast settings are you using? What model and is it 720p or 1080p?

I believe this is the model

As far as settings I use the default "Cinema" settings for movies, tv shows, and anything HD. Use standard for video games, but I believe I turned Brightness down, or possibly it was a different setting, since I heard having it below 50 helps reduce possibility of image retention or something like that.

I ended up getting a 46" Samsung LCD today after going back and forth about the 55". So far I am happy with the 46" and the TV looks just right size wise in the living room so I am glad that I didn't get the 55". It probably would have been way too big. I like the TV the few hours that I've had it and need to adjust the settings..........but, how do you guys like the 120hz option? I am trying to get used to the whole (soap opera effect)......really miss the film like image.
