Ehhhhh yeah my wife USE TO BE like that too. But her's mainly stem from the fact she suffers from PTSD. I for one can't stand to have curtains WIDE OPEN. Even though the houses here are spaced way the hell out, I still have that big urban city mindset of people trying to rob me LOL.

So I keep my curtains and blinds cracked ONLY. Kind of funny how you can grow up in area and that mindset follows you every where you go. I mean I haven't lived in Chicago in 8 years......

But that mindset of triple locking doors and putting club on the car along with the car alarm is still with me. My wife just laughs and says you know the crime rate for this town is 1% right ?

LOL! I am the same way. I'll crack the blinds just enough to get sunlight through, but hate fully opening them afraid that someone might see something they might like and want to rob me.

        Plasma, LCD or LED

Which is the best for gaming?

        I hearing Plasma...

        46" 720p 600hz $499

        42" 720p 600hz $499

Im also hearing that the bigger the TV the better resolution it needs to be...Is that true?

As long as it is 120HZ and above any of those would be good for gaming. If you going to get a plasma it would be best to get the 1080p version of it. And yes the bigger the screen, the more you want it to be 1080p.

Really tempted by this 60" LG Plasma: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...492b8ddc31en02

I've heard bad things about LG but I've had a 37" LG LCD for 2 years and it's been great. The price is only $1500 right now. I've been price watching it for the past couple weeks now too. It's progressively gotten lower and now I'm thinking it's reached its ultimate low in price.

Debating whether or not to pull the trigger this weekend.

That's the exact LG Plasma that my dad bought on Wednesday. Really nice set man. I ended up getting the saleman down to $1199 on it since I had bought my TV, and quite a few other items from the store in the week.

It is definitely sharp though Spear.

                Re: Plasma or LCD?

Do not know why you would hear bad things about LG. They are a good LCD. And their LED sets are pretty nice and well priced.

Sony, Samsung and LG are all good LCD sets IMO.

                I do not know about LG's Plasma's.

From what I read, Panasonic is number one, with Samsung a very close second. And they are not too expensive compared to LCDs in the class of features and quality.

                  Re: Plasma or LCD?

All depends on what series Panosonic Plasma you get, because not all series of Panosonic Plasma are good. But then that is with any tv.

Just don't go by the name, you got to go by the series too because every brand have about 8 different series of the same size tv. And different series are exclusive to certain stores only.

For instance the series of LG's Walmart carry, Best Buy don't carry anymore and certain series of Sony's, Panosonic's, LG's and Samsung's Walmart don't carry at all. Same thing with Vizio, certain series of Vizio Target only carries and some only Walmart carry.

Bottom line, it is a little bit more to it then just buying a brand, because even with the same brand, they all aren't equal. Found that out the hard way few years ago LOL.

True that, I should have been more clear.

I meant the top Plasma's from Sammy and Panny obviously!

But I know exactly what you mean.

I've been stuck on pulling the tricker on this plasma all day. I found it for $479 instead of what BB is offering $499

                      Panny TC-P42C2 42" 720p 600hz

EDIT- Just found another Panasonic TC-P42U2 42" 1080p 600hz for basically the same price

Would it be wise to score the U2 series over the C2?

Or should I just go for the S2 model?

                        Damn, that's a good price.

I guess I could try haggling. I'm just not sure how much lower the price can go. The sale ends on Thursday so I'll have to make a decision soon.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into your thinking but if your willing to go with the "C" series Panny then the 46C2 is 499.99 at the Kmarts out here today. Im not all that familiar with the "U" series as I got a 50X1 but I believe the "C" series suffers from a lower contrast ratio and is missing an HDMI port as it only has 2 and I believe the next line up has 3.

Yeah i thought about the 46" C2 as It was so close to the price of the 42", but being that its 720p and not 1080 I pretty much rather have the 42".

But then here comes the the 42U2 out of nowhere popping up as the same price as both and its a 1080p...Fortunately, the lack of reviews ruled that TV out and provoked me to keep searching...

I ended up going with the 42" C2 becuase I found one online for $399.99

I cant complain as it will be my first HDTV and be mostly used for gaming.

I have the new iMac witch I do most of my TV/Movie watching on.

Also I plan on getting the 46" G25 as a gift for the holidays for my parents.

If anyone come across one for cheap let me know

This isn't always true. The majority of Samsung 120hz lcds have horrible input lag.

Im going to continue to do my research.

Im just looking for something for my bedroom, I plan on saving for a 50" in the near future for living room.

I was also looking at this Proscan deal at Walmart but I have a feeling the set is not good.

                                http://www.walmart.com/ip/Proscan-42...undle/14644503

DO NOT get Proscan. I've only owned one but the thing died in less than a year. Saved some $ (I thought) when I bought it but you get what you pay for, usually.
