Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Hey guys, whats up? I was directed here by a friend when I had TV questions.

Now I have a Coby LED 32" TV. I am a gamer, and bought this TV for that reason. That and it's LED.. best for gaming.. right? Problem is, I get motion blur that drives me crazy.

Same thing with my Sharp Aquos 60" LCD, drives me nuts. Any suggetions?

                  1. It's a Coby. You got what you paid for.
                  2. Plasma is best for gaming/fast action. Whoever told you LED was best for gaming was misinformed. Same with the LCD.

Not sure there is much you can do other then buy a new TV.

Turn OFF all Motion Enhancing Settings, this will help with both Motion & Input Lag

Plasma is also best for ruining a TV with static images. And the pixel shifters don't always work. His problem is it's a Coby. He needs to put it in gaming mode (if it has it.). My latest gaming TV is a Panasonic LED (TC-42LE50). To reduce lag, turn on gaming mode (turns off the motion enhancements that can cause lag ) which should helps his problem. Otherwise, buy a better brand (Panasonic, LG, Sony, Samsung, Toshiba,...hell Insignia would be better than Coby).

Put the Sharp in Gaming mode.

Thanks for all the replies, I always feel stupid when it comes to TVs. Yes I didn't think LED brand mattered that much. Obv I was wrong, and learned I should probably do some research next time. Guess I should look for a 27-32" Plasma.

No...you can find good LG, Samsung, or Toshiba LED's for a little more than what you paid for the Coby.

Unless you keep the game paused for 10 hours that is never going to happen.

Basically...along with it being in vivid mode/high contrast.

even still you will probably just have bad IR--not burn in

Considering making my first television purchase. Wanted to get an opinion on this model.

I don't have an overly bright room, watch a lot of sports, and play a lot of video games. Should I be concerned with IR and how can I lessen it.

                                Thanks for any advice.
