    Re: Direct TV

I am reading that a lot of people are having success getting NFL Redzone by itself for free. Just ask about getting NFL Sunday Ticket with the intention of "settling" for redzone for free.

Right now we have a whole home HD DVR, an HD Box and a standard box. I moved home for the summer and my brother and sister in law put the HD Box in their room and now I am stuck with a crappy box. I really don't want to pay an extra $99 for the stupid thing. Maybe I will try bitching about how new customers are getting NFL Sunday ticket for free.
you can get upgrade/additional hd-dvr box for $20 delivered.

they will sometimes say no at first, just remain polite and they eventually do it.

last time i added a hd-dvr, i just called and said I want to order an additional one on the $20 deal, and the girl immediately said ok. got it in a couple days

cant remember exactly but it was something like a hr22 or 23, whatever the latest one was at the time.

I will try that tomorrow. Did they make you renew your contract for 2 more years? That's what they wanted to do even if I paid $99 for one.

I did get NFL Redzone for free. I asked about the Longhorn Network. He gave me a scripted response on why they won't have it, but then asked if I watched the NFL and gave me the half off offer they are giving to current customers. Then he took $7 more off a month so it was gonna come out to 4 months for $32.99. Said I would think about it then told him my friend got NFL Redzone for free. He activated it right away. Better then nothing.

yeah , they will want you to renew, but i have nba league pass, so renewing works for me.(except in lockout years)

no way around the renewal im aware of if you need to upgrade the box. but hd-dvr is a heck of an upgrde from what you have now. good luck

You can find them online for cheaper. Would I just need to swap the cards out?
