Re: Home theater gurus: Why would I consider a soundbar?
I ended up getting this one for christmas. I am having some issues though. I have searched and didn't find much help so I figured I would ask here.http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HT-CT150-...2I/ref=lh_ni_t Ditch the Walmart one and get the Sony combo. Slightly above $200 at $213 with no taxes and free shipping.
You'll definitely notice a difference without a sub. Night and day difference in action movies like Transformers, Fast Five, Band of Brothers, etc.
I have HDMI from the sub to the tv and and HDMI from my PS3 to the sub. i get sound just fine, its just that I don't get Dolby Digital with my PS3. Even with the games that support it. I just get LPCM. I switched sound to HDMI in the sound setting of the ps3 menu and let it do the automatic thing and still no dice.
Any help would be appreciated.Comment

I think in the video settings (strange I know) there is a way to change the audio from LPCM to bitstream. You want it on bit stream if you want the soundbar to decode the sound. You want it on LPCM if you want the PS3 to decode the sound.I ended up getting this one for christmas. I am having some issues though. Correct. Just a question of what you want to do the decoding-- sound bar or PS3. There should be no difference in audio quality.Comment
