    Setting static IP address

I am having trouble getting the static IP address I set on my linksys router to stay. I want my xbox's connection wide open so I don't have any connection issues. I know how to set static IPs and I set it up right on the router and the xbox because when I ran the test on the xbox the NAT was open.

It's a WRTU54G-TM. I think I just have to get it to never expire, which I can't figure out how to do.

The only static IP address you need to set is on the xbox, you don't need to assign anything statically in the router. You may need to forward ports in the router though.

Got it figured out. I set it on the router to so it didn't decide to give it to another device while my xbox was off.

Make sure your NAT is ENABLED & you forward your ports also

If the xbox is set statically the router will know not to give out that IP to another device.
