    Home Audio Help

I'm looking for some help finding a quality receiver for a home theatre system. With Christmas approaching and my dad's system getting older and older, I'm considering getting him a receiver. It'll be connected to an HDTV and Blu-ray player so obviously I want it to have an HDMI port. My dad is an audio junkie, though he's been out of the loop for the last few years. So, getting something pretty nice will definitely excite him. He'll probably upgrade his speakers once he gets the receiver also. But as for viewing preferences, he loves concerts and musicals via Blu-ray so the receiver and eventually speakers need to have the highest highs and lowest lows. I'm hoping Gamecock can help me out here because he knows what's up. Any help will be much appreciated guys. Price range will be between $200-$400, maybe a little more if it's well worth it.

I am also a huge audio junkie and i just recently bought the Pioneer Elite AV receiver. It has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 Output

3 opticals in and 1 out

Can decode the HD verson of DTS and Dolby True HD

System cost me $300 store model.

It was 2009 model. But it is amazing. I love all Pioneer stuff.

I combined it with Mirage Solar Speakers that cost me about $600 and a dedicated center Pioneer speaker

If you can afford it then get him this bad boy. This would be the 2010 model

      http://www.amazon.com/PIONEER-ELITE-...328280&sr=1-10

Is 3-D ready for the future if he ever wants to buy a 3d tv which means the hdmi is 1.4 comparable

This is a 7.1 bad boy. Is a straight beast
