Sony Embeds PS2 into budget 22" TV

Looks like it's gonna run arond 300 bucks. 22" HDTV with built in PS2 would be great for my kids.
The price of this display is $310, so it won’t break the bank and may make for a great bedroom TV for the kids. That is if they aren’t pestering you for a PS3 or Xbox 360.
There’s no information on when this TV is going to become available and in which territories at the moment.

That's totally legit! I just hope it will be lag-free (or reduced).

Guys like me who have kids but don't want to put an expensive PS3 in their room. A PS2 does everything they need for et purposes. Music/DVD/Games. The ps2 still stands the test of time as tech advances and it is still relivant in alot of homes. This just gives you the opp to get an hdtv with it.

              Bingo.

And with 150million sold since it's launch, people still buy games for it and still are buying PS2s.

It has probably the longest legs of any console in history.

So this works as you suggested, and for people who would like to pick one up with a screen already there so they can have it in another room, not take up a lot of space, and not have wires all over the place.

It is pretty neat, and I am sure we will be seeing PS3s built in to HDTVs if this experiment pans out.

Exactly what I was thinking. Bought that game with my 1st Generation PS3 that was Backwards Compatible. After many hard years of labor it died, my new PS3 won't support it. So, this would be right up my alley.

Works for families on budgets in curbing demand for two electronic devices. Also works for those who no longer have a PS2 and have also been looking for a smaller TV. If I was looking for a small screen TV, I'd jump on this in a minute.

Not to mention the PS2 library of games is GIFRICKENNORMOUS, the vast majority of which can be had super cheap.

If I had to guess, this is exactly why they are doing this.

Sony can test the waters with an idea like this without the expense of putting PS3's in the tv's.
