    Largest LCD/LED/Plasma Available to Public?

My dad and I were talking today about upgrades he's wanting to make to the man room.

One of the things he mentioned was a new TV to hang on the wall.. Basically as big of one as we can find. So I browsed about a bit and found 65" sets but any bigger, I was only able to find projectors. Problem is, the back wall in the man room is primarily window, so there is a lot of natural light (not the best conditions for a projector).

So my question for y'all is.. is there other options? Or are we stuck at 65"?

You only have a few options.

    1) Get rid of that window, but just in case you can't.

    a) DLP will let you go 73" (around $1400) or 82" ($3000+) Can't hang on the wall though.

    b) Largest plasma (65") and get some blackout/darkening curtains (reflection is the main thing)

    c) 1080p projector and get some blackout/darkening curtains (absolute must to get the best PQ out of a projector)

    d) Largest LCD (60")

      - It's about a 25' wall of window(s)

      - This is what my dad said.. I just think it'd be a pain to have to get up and close the curtains every time

      - Knowing dad, LED catches his ear more so than LCD.. he can often get caught up in the "latest and greatest"

That's a DLP. Those are what Mitsubishi is known for. Gonna need a strong wall....150 lbs.

I'd recommend going with a LCD projector if you need a big screen. Closing curtains won't be that big of a hassle.

Call some local home theater places and see if they can get a larger screen or put more than 1 screen together.

Still just a prototype (would only cost a gazillion dollars if available)

              Edit: Only $80K

                  103 inches for $50K

2 year depreciation so "guesstimating" at $35-40K

Still out of reach for the average joe.
