    Skullcrusher Headphones

Has anyone ever tried Skullcrusher headphones?

I listen to music almost every night at home, but my roommate sleeps right above me in the room upstairs. Subwoofers don't go over well with her, so I'm trying to find some really strong headphones and I came across these. Apparently there are mini subs in the headphones. A couple reviews suggested they were for Hip Hop but didn't work as well for Rock/Metal, which is my main genre. Has anyone tried them? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there a worse name you could possibly pick for headphones? When i am browsing headphones, I can tell you that I am not going to pick the one that proclaims it will crush my skull.

I had a pair and I really liked them. I thought they sounded good no matter what kind of music I was listening to.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Haha, that's what I was thinking, but the whole mini-subs concept has me intrigued.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards getting them but they're expensive. I saw the new pair were like $150, hopefully the cheaper ones work just as well.

A guy I work with isn't a fan of skull crushers. He likened them to having a vibrator strapped to your head.

I'd pick one of the Sennheiser models. I've been very impressed with them. I have the 550s.

My homeboy has the Skullcandy Hesh. They sounded pretty good and the bass is on another level. It tripped me the hell out when they started shaking on my head I'm onto big car stereo systems and these headphones are the closest thing.

So I take it there is more than one use for them...

Second the Sennheiser recommendation. I got some HD-280 pros for christmas and they are great.

Yeah, it's amazing what I've missed in my music/movies in the past.

Man, I still can't decide. Been debating for a couple weeks and I'm not good at making decisions. When I listen at home through my computer, I have decent speakers with a subwoofer. I have the sub turned way up, louder than most people, I assume. The bass is incredibly important to me, even though I generally listen to metal and not rap. Every review for Sennheiser I've read is positive and recommends purchase, but nobody points out how strong the bass is.

On the other hand, the skullcandy skullcrusher subwoofer headphones are always reviewed as having massive bass, but the reviews are laced with people making comments such as "these are a joke" or "skullcrushers suck". I can't tell if these people are just trolling or not. I don't really have a lot of money and don't want to waste it on sennheiser if I don't think the bass is high enough, but also don't want to waste on skullcandy if the bass is powerful but everything else sucks

edit: Ok, screw it I ordered the Sennheiser 595 HD plus amp on Amazon since it's currently 55% off plus free shipping...

I'm gonna help you out bro. I was trying to decide the same thing. I had heard my buddy's skullcandy cans and I got hooked. I've read that they broke easily and they kinda feel like they will. I've used their earbuds in the past and I've gone threw maybe 5-6 pair. I did my research and ran into force feedback headphone. Same principle as the candy, but built for it, so they last. I brought these last week: http://www.amazon.com/CSDC-EDI-150-A.../dp/B001QFZ3ZU They sound amazing. No headphone is perfect and every now and them some song sound weird (probably because of bass), but they are the best sounding cans I've owned. My biggest gripe is that they music source determines how loud they get. There is an external volume and bass control but still. The bass is outta this world. You can easily overpower all your music. I've uses them on my laptop and 360 and it shakes your head. I've used them on my brother's MAC and they almost jump off your head. I have no idea why the MACs are so much louder (I-pods too). The are very sturdy and you barely hear anything from the outside. On the MACs you can hear them from the outside, but the are absolutely pounding your head. They can either be powered with 2 AAA batteries or USB. I recommend only USB. The batteries don't make enough power for me. I wouldn't worry about sound quality, because if you have something you really want to hear clear, there is a switch cut the bass out. They are actually cheaper now and I just brought them last week. Hope this helps you
