The Tree of Life- Brad Pitt and Sean Penn

Supposed to be released in May of 2011. It looks so beautifully shot. I just love the feeling I get from watching the trailer. Good trailer music as well.

This is the type of trailer where I don't think the viewer is supposed to understand much

The plot seems pretty cool reading the Wiki page. And like I said, how they shot this thing looks beautiful, to me at least.

Seems like a coming of age story but told in a different sort of style. I have a feeling this is going to be another Revolutionary Road type film. Well in some sort of way.

I didn't mean that in a bad way...it definitely has potential...but based off that trailer, I have no idea if I want to see it or not.

I thought the Benjamin Button trailer was cool and the premise was cool, but I never saw that and I don't regret it.

Yeah the basics I get from the trailer:

Mother is a very soulful/spiritual/loving person while the father is a stern/work hard/no nonsense person.

Son is coming of age and has both of his parent's wills in his heart. Seems rebellious and confused.

Son grows up [Penn] and seems soulless [assuming maybe there was a tragedy or two?]. Seems lost in whatever world he has ended up in as an adult. Seems to be wealthy, just a hunch.

Other than that everything else seemed like a dreamworld. But that just seems awesome with whatever the artistic scenes were.

Sorry if you already knew that

Haha yeah, I guess it was all of the random cuts to nature-like-artistic shots and all of that which had me a tad bit confused. Maybe not even confused...just...couldn't quite grasp what I was supposed to be taking from them.

We'll see how the rest of the previews turn out before I decide if I want to see it or not.

Can't stand Sean Penn. I'm disappointed that Pitt is pairing up with him as I've really enjoyed him more and more as time has gone on. Sorry, but I avoid all things Sean Penn.

You've missed a good movie or two, then.

don't understand that. Penn is an excellent actor. This movie, I don't know though.
