I have so much respect for DJ's. I've seen DJ Premier (GOAT) standing in front of a freaking space ship looking set up. How they do it, I have no idea.

have you looked into software also?

If you're interested in working with digital only you may want to look up Serato (Scratch Live)

Software is way cheaper than hardware and most likely will be the future...

Grab a software like Serato (assuming you already have a good laptop) and get a DJ controller

Shop new & used pro audio gear—from JBL, Shure, QSC, Yamaha & more. Huge selection, low prices, 8% back in points & free shipping.

Numark mixtrack pro, $250 and they usually come with a software program (Tractor Pro, Virtual DJ and Serato are some of the best software; the link includes Virtual DJ) all you'll need is a computer/lap top...

They're are two different versions, the Mixtrack ($150) and Mixtrack Pro, Id go with pro because it has a build in soundcard, go with the regular Mixtrack then you'll have to buy a audio interface, mixer or use the lousy computer's soundcard.

Good thing is, if you ever want to take it seriously and upgrade to a higher end controller or just want to start using hardware and vinyl/CDs, you can always have this set to practice on at home.

Good looks on those videos man. Watched that first one and after seeing it being done, it doesn't look as hard as I thought it would initially.

I can see this whole thing is gonna cost me a few $$$ but I think it'll definitely be worth it in the long run.

Also with software, you can use your hardware with it if you ever decided to go Vinyl/Analog later down the road.

Thats is the most up to date setup right now.

Right now I am using Virtual DJ and it serves my needs. Going the software route will be much cheaper cause all you need for starters is a laptop, a controller such as Hercules RMX or Numark Total Contorl and your ipod which will pretty much be your hard drive and your good from there. Light and portable. Also with Virtual DJ you don't "need" a controller if your just messing around or what not. They just make it easier to control the software. You can always rent speakers and an amp when needed so I wouldn't buy them right off unless you just have the money to do it.

                Update:

Went ahead and went with the Numark Mixtrack Pro Set, after looking on ebay and going to Guitar Center out here and the reviews I seen were good for the most part.

Haven't had much time to sit down and mess with it due to work and the Packers Season but with the latter being over now, I'll have sometime to sit down and get started on this so once I find a way to upload videos, I'll try to keep ya'll updated for those interested of course lol.
