I have a feeling the ratings for this season will be really good. I bet you at least %95 of the people that say they won't watch a minute of it because Russell and Boston Rob are back will still tune in.

4 part interview with Russell and Boston Rob.

This interview looks like it happened before the game began so you could argue these 2 guys are already getting a early break by being able to talk to each other. Usually you see the cast arrive in a boat/by air/meet up at the beach and they're not allowed to talk until Probst talks first.

Almost all of the comments are pretty negative about these guys returning. A lot of them say they won't watch this season. I'll go on the record and say this season will get a higher rating than last season (I think it's going head to head with AI this season). Last season was a complete dud so I'm glad Russell and Boston Rob are back. Probst said this is a Top 5 season and his track record is pretty good. Based on those comments, I'm pretty sure Russell and Boston Rob go far in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if both are in the final 4.

The first episode lived up to the hype.

I hope Phillip sticks around because this guy is a nutcase. He ruined the plan of his alliance during TC and his whole special agent name drop cracked me up. He reminds me of all the poker players on Survivor/Big Brother/The Amazing Race that think they have some sort of edge on the other players because they think they know how to read people.

So not only is Kristina a moron by playing way too hard from Day 1, but she wasted a lot of money on getting fake boobs and a horrible big tramp stamp. Rob cracked me up when he asked for the HII.

We are 1 episode in and it's already better than last season.

Boston Rob's got some hotties in his tribe. The dancer (Natalie?) and the student (Andrea?) are my 2 chicks for the season.

Missed last season, and it doesn't sound like I was missing much, pretty psyched to be able to watch this season though.

A bunch of random thoughts:

-Lol at Stephanie. "If I'm not the one person he picks to keep to the end, then no matter what I'm going to be out. I'm going to be out.". Russell has her beaten ALREADY without saying a single word to her.

-If I had to pick my poison, I guess I'd be happy that my tribe got Rob. Although I wouldn't be thrilled about it. Something about him just feels more beatable than Russell.

-Is that Russell trying to add a social aspect to his game with this whole "leadership" thing? Dare I say he'd be unstoppable if he had that?

-Stephanie's already looking like the new Parvati. If she tried she could own Russell and have him doing her bidding. But judging by her earlier comments, she won't try and Russell will own her for his entire run. Which wouldn't be all bad. Worked for Natalie in Samoa (still bitter about that).

-Someone needs to get this Phillip guy clothes. If he's going to walk around in briefs the whole season it's going to offset the hotness of some of the girls.

-I've said it during past seasons, but I could get used to this 1 challenge an episode thing. I know it's not going to stay that way thanks to the Redemption Island stuff, and we'll see how that works out, but more strategy and less challenges makes Dayman very, very happy.

-Rob's puzzle ability is almost unfair. They're never out of a challenge. It's amazing to watch Russ's squad damn near lose that entire, gigantic lead all because Rob's awesome. Sure, the purple people won, but damn did Rob's squad give them a decent run.

-Lol at Russell's "We're stronger than they are, smarter...." spiel after 1 challenge. Way to keep that ego in check, dude.

-I realize getting rid of Rob is probably a good move for you individually (but probably not for the tribe), but why in the hell would you want to burn your idol in the first week?

-"I got so screwed last season because someone didn't understand.". Silly Tyson. He's not going to live that down.

-"But is it in the interest of Phillip Shepard and company?" What in the hell? Why are they not unanimously voting this nutjob off?

-I pray for Russell and Rob to make the merge. I don't see any of these other people being all that interesting, which is probably a dumb judgement to make after one episode. Besides the nutter butter, but he's intersting for insanity purposes and I think he'll grate away at me eventually a la Coach, who I didn't mind at first but I eventually wanted to just go away.

-This might be the most eventful first Tribal I can remember, but I've only watched like 5 seasons at most. For now, the nutter butter has kept it interesting.

-Rob's going to destroy that Kristina chick. Like he said, it's obvious right now that he's playing with amateurs. I'd be shocked if she isn't the next person eliminated from their tribe, idol or not.

He's a definite wack job. I think the goverment used him for some experimental mind stuff at some point. I hope he can hang around for a while because he's definitely entertaining.

I'm thinking the merge too.

Which would make all their "what ifs" last night pretty silly since everyone they used in those segments were voted out fairly late in the game.

I like the idea of redemption island. It helps in the case the weaklings of the tribe decide to vote off a strong player for no other reason than being a strong player.

I also think that they had to add it because logic would dictate that people may be gunning for Rob and Russell early. This way its CBS safetynet that R & R stay in the game a little longer. There is a reason those guys were invited back, people like to watch them.

I love the idea of Redemption Island like FoR said, it brings whole new strategy to the game. The one thing I wish they get rid of is Immunity Idols. Well, maybe not completely get rid of them but, at least limit them to one per tribe and once it's used it cannot be put back into play.

Finally was able to watch Survivor last night. Random thoughts.

- Thought that it was one of the best tribal councils I have seen.

- Put some pants on Phillip!

- Was disappointed that the tribes were given such a huge array of tools to build their shelters with.

- I thought the production crew stated they were going to hide the idols much better after Russell found them so easily?

- I'm hoping the winners of the duels at Redemption Island come back into the game well before the merge. That would be a LONG time away from the action. If they go this route it would be interesting to see if they go directly back to their original tribe or not.

I assumed Francesca would face off against "A" next week. Should Francesca win, she is back in the game and "A" is gone for good. Then it starts again.
