I'm a fan though many are not. I felt that the story could go on. Hopefully it doesn't fall flat like the Stars Wars Prequels but has a good balance of action and story. Also a possibility of being in 3D. I just hope it's not cheesy.

Awesome. I hope the story works well but honestly I love the Matrix series mostly for its action scenes. Matrix in Cameron's 3d technology sounds like a winner.

I've kind of had to consider the Matrix trilogy as a guilty pleasure since the 2nd and 3rd installment seemed to catch so much flak. I definitely liked the 2nd and the 3rd wasn't too shabby upon first viewing. I'll say there was direct correlation between how much I enjoyed the Matrix versus how much grimey science fiction became involved. I liked scenes in the fake world a ton more than anything involving the machines in the "real" world.

I am intrigued by this news.

The Matrix is my absolute favorite movie of all time. Nobody beats it. I just don't see anyway for them to continue the plot however. Someone post some good fanfic.

Not saying this is absolute and it is just a thought I'm throwing out there but considering the Matrix story, I think there is still a chance Reeves could be in a prequel.

It's been a long while since I went back to the story but weren't there others that were supposed to be The One? Isn't it possible that the machines created several Neo-looking men in order to confuse the resistance?

I'm just saying that they could come up with a clever way of using Keanu in a prequel. That being said, I'm sure they are direct sequels since the story never had a complete ending. The fight could always continue.
