Photoshop activists, need help with eye coloration

So my mom wants to get my grandparents a canvas photo of one of their dogs for my grandma's birthday. Unfortunately, their dog is unfortunately getting pretty old and I believe she has cataracts or something, because her eyes illuminate a bit of this green color but it especially shows up in photos. I don't know if you guys know the regular Maltese eye color, but if someone can help me out with normalizing the color in both of her eyes in this photo.

Thanks if anyone can help. The image is below:

Please try and retain the same resolution if possible. Or if you'd like, please fill me in on what layer blending/fill tool techniques I need to use to achieve what it is I'm looking for.

That looks pretty good, thanks. I'm trying to find a way to completely eliminate any sort of green hues though, like as if it was any other Maltese you would see on the street.

I was just wondering if there was a trick one could do which preserved things like the flash effect still coming off her iris and lens, but just not in that green color.

What was it that you did at least for her left eye in this shot? Did you essentially make a duplicate of the right eye?

Thanks though, this is a great start! I just want to make sure it can be perfected before being ready for print.

Yeah, all I did was use the spot healing brush.

One thing you could try doing is to make a new layer over the picture and use the brush tool over the dog's eyes with the new layer selected. Then try tinkering with the color and the layer modes.

Ya, I couldn't get to it at first either to take a look. If all you're wanting to do is remove greenish hues, do a color correction and choose green, then take down the saturation slider to your desired level.

Cute dog. We bought one a couple of years ago. Good alert dog.... can't handle other dogs though unfortunately, but loves every person she sees.

Hmm, I guess I don't actually know how to do that. Is there a YouTube video that shows this, for the sake of saving you time to explain it?

And thanks, I think she's cute as well. I haven't actually met Brooklyn since I haven't been to my grandparents' house in maybe over seven years (which sounds strange because I know their house like the back of my head), but they had two other dogs before, one still living and one who sadly had to be put to sleep. My mom sent me this picture and others through e-mail. Let me resize and track down some of those other ones.

EDIT: Here are the three together. Mariah (left), Maggie (middle), Brooklyn (right).

Maggie is the one who was put to sleep a couple of years ago. My grandpa misses her so much.

Here ya go Blz..... one is with eye correction and one is with eye correction and the hay removed, in case that was wanted too (it may be that photobucket will reduce the size --- if you PM me your email, I can send you the originals if you like):

Ahhh, thank you so much! That looks very good, you be a genius! lol I might have to come back for some more cleanups in case my mom wanted me to use any of the other photos in the e-mail she sent me.

Speaking of e-mail, I'll send mine to you right now because yeah, we'll need the original sizes for these large canvas prints.
