What Size TV?
I'm getting a new TV and I was planning on getting the Panasonic Viera but I don't know if I should get the 32" or the 37" inch? So I'm just curious to know what size TV you fellas play on?Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersTags: None -
Re: What Size TV?
I play on a 42" and it is perfect for me.
Also not to be annoying but you should probably move this to the OS Neighborhood of topic thread. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: What Size TV?
Well a few years ago I got a 720p 37", somehow it got a burn image on the side of the screen but I had a warranty on it and took it back to BestBuy. So they tell me that since the TV is cheaper now from when I bought it that my warranty only covers the price now and not what i paid. Long story short, I got a 1080p 40" out of the deal so it worked out well for me. These HDTV's are really going down on prices but the ones with 3D capablity seem to be high."I wanna walk down the street and people say," "There goes Roy Hobbs, the best to ever play the game."Comment

Re: What Size TV?
Like others said, get as big as you can afford and how much room you have to put the tv in. When buying a tv there is always a few things you got to consider.
1. Your Budget
2. The size of your car, makes no sense to buy a 50 inch tv when you driving a small car. Even though HDTV's are slim, not every manufactury box is slim, some are wide as hell, particularly Phillips, Sanyo and Vizio. Samsung, LG, Panosonic have slim boxes though.
3. The tv stand you got in your house. Got to considered whether or not your current tv stand can support the weight and width of the tv. HDTV's are rectangular shaped. Also keep in mind, you do still have some 46 and up HDTV's that weigh 100 pounds.
So you might have to buy a new tv stand, so that might factor into your budget for your tv. TV stands aren't cheap and neither are wall mounts. You would be best buying a wall mount, if you go that route, online from a warehouse instead of a retail store.
Speaking of wall mounts......they aren't universal. Make sure you buy the one that matches the pattern of the mount holes on the back of your tv. Every model is different.Comment

Re: What Size TV?
I'm currently using a 101" screen with a Mitsubishi HC1500 720p projector, but I'm "downgrading" to a 65" Mitsubishi WD-65638 TV here in the next week or so. Our living room is 13' long, so we need a large TV to be able to make out the text on the screen.
Make sure you can read the very small print that some media have. It makes a huge difference to not have to squint 24/7.Last edited by Dirty Turtles; 02-05-2011, 01:33 PM.NFL: Green Bay Packers

Re: What Size TV?
Always go a little bit bigger thenwhat you think is gonna be good. So definitely the 37". I have a 42" in my bed room and it's perfect.
Someone said something about wall mounts. www.monoprice.com
Worlds greatest site. Mounts are $25ish for a flush mount and $50ish for a swivel. My mount extends out 25" when fully extended and it's holding up a 42" plasma. You can also get hdmi cables for $3 and if you are ever needed to network your house they have everything imaginable to do that too.Comment
