    Input lag on a Plasma?

I just bought a plasma 42 inch 3D tv but it has not arrived yet. I bought the TV mostly for gaming.

Right now I have a 60 inch DLP and I do not notice any lag. When I hook up the new plasma am I going to see a noticeable difference when playing games compared to the DLP?

    Thanks for reading.

P.S. Panasonic 42 3D TV in case it matters

Plasmas run at a 600 hz refresh rate... in short, no, you won't get any lag.

And CZ already answered your question before anyway...

Sorry I didn't see his response and I thought I might have been lost in the shuffle.

There will probably be less lag.

I remember when I calibrated guitar hero on my dlp it accounted for like 32 milliseconds. You couldn't tell on games other then guitar hero and rock band though.

Any fixed pixel display will have lag, DLPs tend to have worse lag, there's a bit more processing with DLP. LCD, Plasma tend to be more based on brand and product line.

DLPs tend to get a bad deal because the popular Samsung plasmas had, at one time, horrendous input lag.

Your plasma should be fine, I measured my Panasonic plasma, Toshiba LCD and Sony SXRD TVs with RB2 and they were all about the same (and all really good).

I've had the opposite experience than most. I had a Samsung DLP that experienced no lag. Recently purchased a Samsung C8000 Plasma that does have lag. However, putting the TV into game mode has eliminated the lag. The same calibration settings are available in Game Mode so I don't really see a problem (and have read a few people that keep all inputs set to Game Mode).

If lag is a problem on DLP's then I have to thank you. You just gave me an excuse for when I strike out in MLB:10/11. Damn lag.... lol
