Ok with the fanboy talk, because you seem like the android fanboy right now, I own an iPad an an android phone, I'm just calling it like I see it at this point, didn't say thing couldn't change, but for a 800 dollar tablet that doesn't have much support right is a tab not worrying buying right now.


The iPhone apps don't look bad on the iPad, do you even own an iPad, and please don't tell well my friend has one and blah, blah, you have to own an iPad appreciate it. I don't care for multitasking like you do, the iPad fits my needs and that that matters for me.

And it only took you two iPads to figure all this out

At any rate, we just put the Xoom up in the store today... if anything has come close thus far to meeting, or even exceeding, the iPad, it's this thing. I still prefer the Apple devices mainly because it's what I'm used to, but this tablet is most certainly a beast.

Personally I'm not too enthralled about the Xoom either, but I'm more interested in it than I was after spending time with an iPad.

Personally I would like to see a Nirvana Phone (like the Atrix) with a 10" tablet dock.

the Ipad for me is still far from Meh, it does everything for me still and beyond.

Read the review from engaget first, they are great on reviews, they tell it like it is, the Xoom is a great piece of hardware, but there support for apps right now are just not there. This will go for the rest of the complaints trying to release a honeycomb tab so quick.

In all honestly, Apple has nothing to be worried about. Plus frequent little updates to the Ipad latley are great.

Yeah I know we won't see any quality Android tablets til the summer. I would be getting a Xoom for work so I wouldn't be paying for it nor would I have a choice in using it lol. My boss was discussing the negatives around the Xoom today though, he said we'll stick with the iPad for now.

I'd stay away from this. Nothing really impressive here.

The HP touchpad will be incredible though. If you want an alternative to an iPad, that's the best place to look in the near future.

This isn't true FF. Native iPhone apps look like dog **** on the iPad. They don't optimize anything when pixel-doubling: not the text, not images, not edges.

If you're jailbroken, I suggest you purchase RetinaPad. It's a must on the iPad at this point if you're still using iPhone apps on the iPad (which most have an appropriate substitute now anyway).

That's a deal beaker for me if I had any intentions of looking at the HP. I had the palm pre and hated palm OS.

That's a shame, because it's probably going to be the best mobile OS out there. They've already demoed features on 2.0 that no other OS has touted.

Small market innovation that is going unnoticed.

Edit: And your phone was incredibly underpowered. It would be like taking the original iPhone and trying to do all the stuff available now.

Any word on a Wi-Fi only version of Xoom? If they had Wi-Fi only this would be a no brainer for me but I can't justify the price for the 3G since I don't want the service.

Anyone get a wifi xoom? Got one from amazon and delivery should be wednesday. This will be my first android device. Any must have apps/widgets? Any general tips, advice, or good xoom forums to look through?
