Also on Win7 64 bit, but haven't had either of those issues. Not sure what the problem is.Comment

Re: Firefox 4
So can those that have been using FF4 confirm that the JS execution is indeed much faster? I really have some slow loading with some website with FF 3.6.15. Also, does the plugin-container.exe still run in the background? That things really bugs me and sometimes gives me trouble. Thanks!Comment

Re: Firefox 4
I don't think it is, lol.
I know what he's talking about with that plugin-container ****. I had a lot of crashes from FF in the past that were because of that (or at least that's what it said), although just before this new version of FF came out I hadn't had any issues the past week or 2.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Firefox 4
I've had a lot of issue with this FF4 which is making me not even want to try it no more. I had to uninstall McAfee Security Suite to stop my FF4 from freezing everytime I typed in a search. Now I'm having scrolling issues? I can't use my Touchpad to scroll, I have to use the scrollbar on the side of the web pages to scroll. I understand these things happen early on, but this is why most people just ship back to the old browser they were using because it worked and this new shiny faster browser for the time being isnt.Comment

Re: Firefox 4
i was excited for this - skipped all the beta's because too many extensions weren't working. so finally upgraded yesterday - and it's a mess. not that FF3.5 was the most memory friendly app, but it was manageable (200-300MB) with 1 or 2 FF reboots a day. FF4 - ugh - 400-500MB of RAM in use after only 10-15 minutes of use. had it up to 750MB at one point.
i went through and uninstalled as many extensions as possible. still using too much memory. i should go back and do a clean profile and only install a bare minimum of extensions, but for now, i'm switching over to Chrome.Comment

Re: Firefox 4
Well it worked for 2 days and now if I attempt to load anything it stops responding and I have to close Firefox and restart it. I cant take this much more before I just jump back to the previous version of Firefox I had and wash my hands of this "upgrade", if it isnt crashing its freezing so from where Im sitting, this thing is a complete joke.Comment

Wonder what are the causes of some peoples problems on here.
I have yet to have any issues. It is running much better than 3 for me.
Smoother, faster, etc.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 03-25-2011, 06:49 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Firefox 4
It runs good for me too, but there are issues where the URL bar at the bottom of the page when I hover over a link just sits in space. LOL! I just added a new theme so it seems to help with some of the other quirks I encountered before.Comment

Re: Firefox 4
Finally got it to work again but had to uninstall it and install it all over again. Im dumbfounded, any ideas as to why a fresh install would fix whatever the problem was? I had another Windows update last night but surely that couldnt cause Firefox to go to **** all of a sudden could it?Last edited by The Chef; 03-25-2011, 04:28 PM.Comment
