    iTunes questions

So, I recently bought a new laptop and am going to be getting rid of my old PC. There's nothing much of importance on the old PC, aside from my iTunes, which has over 1,000 songs on it.

Can I copy my iTunes onto a Flash Drive and then install that iTunes file onto my laptop?

Are you talking about that file that says iTunes library or do you mean the folders the files are stored in? If neither, then maybe iTunes has a different format for storing files on PC's versus Macs.

Alternatively, you could install iTunes onto your new computer. If your old PC has a WIFI card in it, you can turn sharing on in iTunes and import all of your stuff over wifi into the new laptop.

Yes you can transfer your iTunes music from computer to computer. I have a backup of my iTunes library on a portable HD just encase.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Cool, so I can just drag the iTunes icon onto my flash drive and then pop it onto my new laptop?

No you gotta dig and find the music folder inside the iTunes media folder. In the music folder you'll find everything you need to transfer, it breaks down by artist, copy the music folder. If your talking a thousand songs or more you're going to need more then a flash drive, unless it's a big drive.

OK. Then after I do that, I install iTunes on my new laptop and put those folders into that iTunes program?

Sorry if these questions are silly but I'm really clueless when it comes to technology and just want to make sure I do this right so I don't lose all of the songs I've already downloaded, and that I don't erase all the songs off my iPods.

Install iTunes on the new PC, sign in to iTunes and authorize the PC, insert the drive and use iTunes "Add Folder to Library". That should be it, it's all I did last year. Also, look under the help tab in iTunes if you get stuck.
