The 3 major online gambling sites shut down

SMH. I can't give my opinion on this as it would likely be a TOS violation.

Im shocked. I took my money out of Full Tilt a while ago. ($750.) Glad I did when I did. I have a friend that is currently out about $2,500.

I'm surprised it took this long. They basically gave the US government a gigantic "FU", it was just a matter of time.

Very true. I never agreed with the legislation that was passed in 2005. But oh well. Should be an interesting case.

What a complete joke...I haven't played online in months, but the fact that it's illegal in the first place is ridiculous.

Wait? I thought Pokerstars went to a non-monetary model a couple years ago because of this kinda thing?

              I guess I was wrong...

BTW It doesn't surprise me that there's so much bank fraud and money laundering with these online poker sites as it's probably really easy to get away with that for a period of time.

They, like all the other sites, offer play money poker, but they all make their profits with real money games.

It will all open up again sometime down the road when the gov figures out how to get their cut. You'll probably have to pay like $29.99 per month to be a "member" of a site and taxes will be taken out automatically or something. Too much money available for this to cease and desist all together. The gov will get their share soon.

Legalize and tax. For god sake, doesn't even Utah have a lottery now? i know almost all the southern bible bangin states do. The social ill/addiction argument is pathetic. Addicts will always find a way to get their fix.
