Really TJ - these things are just - ugh. They feel unfinished. I can name numerous problems - heck installing the very first program resulted in "error processing purchase."

Complete random suggestion - get DolphinBrowserHD. Much better than the stock browser.

And I only have an iPad to compliment it - not the 2. The 2 which I bought my father is that much better (although I'm running iOS5).

Application crashes, what I would call a "glitchy" or "jerky" web browsing experience.... just not a pleasant experience at all. I chalked it up to the device until the 3rd unit... it has to be Android Tablet OS.

I have owned alsmot all of them and I mean all of them. Call me crazy which some of you know I am, I just like technoiogly and like to check things out.

Galaxy Tab 10.1- The latest one.
Galaxy 7"
Xoom
Asus Transformer with Dock
HTC Flyer
Ipad
Ipad2


I just sold my Flyer and I'm going back the the Ipad, not even the 2 but the first one, I think the first ipad is still the best and Still wont be beat for some time. I'm going to guy a 64gb Ipad, The second one was sweet when I owned it, but minuses the camera there not a huge difference iIMO and the camera are not even that good either on any of these tablets. Ipad wins in its sleep.

at the rate that you're going through tablets, one has to question, why do you need one? I mean it's one things to like new technology, but the hassle of buying and selling multiple tablets that pretty much have the same functionality is insane. I was planning to buy an iPad but can't think of any legitimate reason to own one. I mean, I can do just about anything on my Android device that I'd do on a tablet.

Screen size really is a huge differentiating factor. Those no way to plausibly explain it - while you *can* get work done on a mobile phone, a tablet's increased screen size tends to blur that division between laptop/desktop much more... but there's no real way anyone can realize this until they have it.

It's not a slight... it's just one of those - you didn't think you need one until you've owned one.

For the laptop warriors - it's a tough sell. But it's much more convenient to have on your lap watching a game than a laptop is, at least for me personally.

Its just a hobby, I like trying all new electronics out, its just my things, as I work in the Tech Field, I try it all. Now I'm back to a 64gb 1st gen Ipad that will still last me another few years, Im happy with what I need it to do, period.

The ipad 2 really isn't that huge of a difference to really need to own it over the 1st gen ipad at this point.

The only android tablet i'd even give a chance is the galaxy tab 10.1. Thinner than iPad 2 and slightly better cameras. I haven't played with a honeycomb device, but everything I read says its not quite ready for primetime yet.

iOS is just so polished and problem free that its tough to go against it.

Bottom line is no tablet is messing with the iPad right now. Android tablets aren't ready for primetime with regard to apps. They have specs that blow ipad but it takes more than that.

i love the tab 10.1, I have used iOS and i feel the ipad is just to basic. I'm not a fan of it... I love the honeycomb OS the bottom bar is genius

He isn't giving himself enough time to enjoy and figure out the nuances of each tablet. Then runs to create threads of hype on a message board where some people don't know any better and believe that a device/product is good. Just like with the whole ebay 360 fiasco where he convinced peeps to buy repaired 360's from a con artist on ebay.

I've had my Galaxy Tab for 6 months now, have had a iPad for about 8 and I like the Tab more. I like the size of the iPad, but I like the ease of use of the Tab better plus the apps are cheaper. Not having to use iTunes is the best part. I have lots of movies and music on the Tab and just connecting it to my computer via USB and drag and drop works a lot better for me than dealing with iTunes. The iPad is better for reading and if I didn't have to rebuy the MLB At Bat app on the iPad I would use it there, but I have it on the Tab so that's what I use to stream games.

Granted I am using an app, but that same functionality you enjoy in dragging and dropping media I do with the iPad and OPlayerHD.

It can be done with just about any app as well - GoodReader, AtomicBrowser, etc.

If you just want a tablet I see nothing wrong with an android tablet at all if you just want to surf or look at videos or listen to music or whatever the case

Honestly, FF buying multiple tablets that all do the same thing is just weird. Just test them at the store, but dont waste a ton of money on electronics like that, when there is no reason to.

Im not sure how this turned into an ipad vs android thread but there is already an ipad thread if im not mistaken

Yeah they need to work on honeycomb a little but its not something you'll shoot yourself in the head over.

Yeah your any better, You owned both systems probably more times then me, I just make the mistake telling the boards, which I don't care. " I only own the PS3, but I will post pics of Gears of War in my avatar" that's indicating what, you will own another 360 again too? your funny George.
